I would buy a pink poodle mylar balloon he could tote around and do the rest in the other dog patterns. Just an idea. Mandy

If he really wants the pink poodles I see nothing wrong with that. My best friend's son went through a cheetah print stage at 4 inspired by the Cheetah Girls (I think they are called that). He wanted Cheetah everything -- even Cheetah rainboots with pink trim. She didn't bat an eye -- just indulged him and didn't make a big deal. He's fine. And this year, it's all about trucks and the color red. And plaid for some reason. In my opinion, colors aren't "dangerous." They are just wonderful forms of expression. Why place limits on that?

He may really become attached to that pink poodle. ?? Just a thought.

I totally agree with not buying the poodle...that would really fire him up. I would say okay. Then, "nonchallantly" just happen upon a brand new party theme book at another store, and pretend to get all excited about the different ideas it might have. But it, take it home, make sure the poodles are torn out if there are any, and let them see if there are any new ones they like. i bet he'll change his mind. if that doesn't work, get him another dog themed one, and tell him the pink one was backordered/out of stock/you can't find it, and "would it be okay if you got THIS dog one instead?"
