Ok so I already asked about this...LOL! They were fighting the morning nap, but now for the past few day they ahve been taking the morning nap which has become 2-2.5 hours and don't want ot take their afternoon nap....UGH!!!

Would you just push the morning back and try one nap? Thats all their doing anyway!!

I would try to push the morning nap back. I would start with putting it back 15-30 minutes later each day until you/they can work out a good time. Good luck!

That's my situation too... once in a while I put them down if we are home and they seem tired (usually ds, I guess because he moves a lot more) and he does sleep but then he gets even cranckier... so I just skip it now and put them to bed at 6-6:30
They still wake up at the same time or even earlier when I put them down later with the afternoon nap.
I also tried to push the morning nap... somedays they are fine and take their nap around 9:30 or 10, others is 9...I just know
they will nap then and that is the one nap I count on to do stuff around the house....also later naps usually = less sleep..don't know why, but it just works out that way...
after they stopped falling asleep in the car in the afternoons when we were out I knew my afternoon naps were over...

Yes, I would try to slowly move it later. Mine were about the same age when they started transitioning to one nap. I tried to watch them carefully and see when they both started showing signs of fatigue. Then I put them down. Same as Gimena, I could tell we were at one nap when they no longer fell asleep in the car coming home from the park.
Someone else told me to feed them and give them milk before putting them down for their one nap. It helps when they are digesting and getting sleepy after a meal. It's worked pretty well for me.

Mine are just now transitioning to one nap. It is taking us a while to get used to it (me, as well as them!).

Yep! [IMG] That's what we did here. I simply followed their lead and the transition went smoother than I thought it would! [IMG]

It probably took us a full 3 months to transition to 1 nap.
From 15-18 months we alternated 1 & 2 nap days. On the days they only got 1 they were super tired and went to bed early, then they would get up too early which meant 2 naps that day. Becaues of the extra sleep they would stay up a little later which meant the next day was a 1 nap day. It went on like that for some time.
Now we are at the point where we sleep rfom about 730p-730a and take our nap from 12-2 or so.

    Hang in there!!!
