At what age did your children go to one nap a day? I think Hyrum went to one nap a day around 13 or 14 months or so. Anyways, thanks for the imput!
We are currently in the process of moving to one nap. Right now they do one nap 3 days a week and two naps the other 4.
We did two naps up until 18 mos. We went with one nap up until 2.5 years old. At 2.5, they decided that napping was for babies
We were pretty much there at 15 months. They occasionally take 2 if they wake up in a cranky mood. But to be honest - I wish they did two everyday. It is HARD trying to entertain them for so long without going out and spending money!!
I started the transition when they turned 17 months old. We are pretty set in it now, although from 11-12 they are pretty cranky and tired. They go down at 1pm and sleep until about 4pm. This change has also caused them to sleep an extra half hour in the morning.
All 3 of the younger boys transitioned right at their first b-day. Our daycare has 1 nap per day for 1 and up...the girls have told me that they occasionally fall asleep while eating lunch

Their second nap kept starting later and later which meant they were waking up later and later, which was pushing bedtime back, blah, blah, blah. During the transition I just ensured we had a really exciting outing every morning and made sure the car ride home was never more than 15 minutes or we'd be asleep!
First, I love your new avitar! QUOTE(SweetpeaG @ Oct 29 2007, 04:12 PM) It was 13/14 months for us. I have to sing at the top of my lungs and tickle their feet so they dont fall asleep in the car.
I still have mine at 2 naps during the week since DD gets out of preschool at 1:30 and then they all take a nap from then til 3:30. So during the week they can't make it til 1:30 so I give them a nap from 9:30-10:30 most days. On the weekend, with no school interfering, I give them all a nap at about 12:00 so they can handle that much better-- 1 long nap. If DD's school was during better hours, we would be at 1 nap every day.
We transition around 14 months to one nap. Most days they would fight the 2nd nap, but be too tired before bedtime. So it just seemed like a natural time to move to one nap. They also sleep long nights. FWIW, I'm a SAHM so the kids don't have to be up early.

Rianna nap twice a day (10 AM until Noon) and then about half hour 3 or 4 pm. But my son, Justin hardly nap at all! He fight his nap but he does goes to bed 7 to 7 30 pm. They are both early riser at 5:00 AM. I can't get them to sleep longer. Any suggestion for my son? I know he is supposed to get a good nap. The only thing he can nap is when I drive around town.
Oddly, mine went to 1 nap at 8 months. yikes! And all of a sudden (at 14 months), that nap is now from 2-5pm, or 3-6pm. They get up at 7:30am, so it is soooooooo hard entertaining them until 2pm or 3pm. The pedi said "they are growing up" so their nap is later, but I am pooped!
