One much less affectionate?

I was SO sad the other day! For weeks now, every time I put the kids down to naps or bedtime I ask ds for a hug or kiss. Every time he just laughs and runs away, or yells. DD on the other hand, will ask me for hugs & kisses & is extremely affectionate. Then, the other day we stopped in to see my sister at work & as we were leaving I asked like I usually do, "Can you give Auntie a kiss?" DS leans right over & smacks her on the lips. :mellow: Sure, give Auntie a kiss but not me. Tonight, I asked again but this time he bit me! Is this a phase, or just a boy thing?? It's starting to make me really sad!

 

Well, I don't know about it being a boy thing but I have experienced one being less affectionate than the other. My dd Arwen was not affectionate for the longest time. I don't think she started giving me hugs or kisses until she was about 14 months old and now she has become very affectionate. I think it's just a phase. I know it feels sad but try not to make a big deal about it to them. Instead of asking for kisses just kiss your hand and put it on his forehead or something and say, I love you. It won't make you feel as rejected, you will know that you are still showing him you love him and eventually, he will probably come around. Sorry it is making your heart sad but he loves you and is probably just playing a little game.

 

My ds is the same way. Occasionally if I tell him I love him he'll give me a kiss but mostly he just ignores me.....but my dd is a love bug.

 

My DD is that way. She like to sit and cuddle and stuff, but hugs and kisses, she's not interested in. Now my boy, is a hug and kiss machine. :lol:
