Ok I got the girls some nuby sippy cups with straws. I thought these might work better. Well the straw is nice and soft but they have to bite on it and then suck to get the milk to come out. I am assuming this is because it is a none spill. I think they would do really good with the straw kind but what kind can I get that has a soft straw and won't spill everywhere but they don't have to be rocket scientist to drink out of? This whole sippy cup thing is going to be the end of me.

No rocket scientists here but it took them a few times and they finally got it. Keep trying a bit and I bet they will get it.

I was also going to say keep trying. It took my girls several tries before they got the straw concept. I would hold it to their mouths and let them fool with it for a while.

We started off with these. I think I know what you mean about the Nuby's, and I don't think you have to bite the Munchkins to get something out.

We started using actual cups with straws in them, like you would get at a restaurant. They couldn't figure it out at first, but I took the straws out of the cups with a little liquid in it, (you know how you hold the one end to keep a little water in) and then put the straw in their mouth and let the water go. It only took a few times doing that and they figured out how to use the straw in their cups.

We use ones by The First Years that I can't find online, but we got them at Toys R Us and they look like the insulated sippy cups, but with a straw.

i was a sippy cup failure until yesterday. i bought the Nuby ones but not the straw one the one that looks like a sippy cup. it has a soft nipple like a bottle almost. i gave it a try with DS who takes nothing but a bottle and when he tried it he got some juice out of it and just kept going. so i let DD have a try and her to same thing they are now on their way to sippy cups lol give it a try it works believe me i tried them all

The take n' toss ones have been the most successful ones for us--both with a straw and without. We tried every variety out there, and my dd would get it everywhere. The take n' toss ones are the only ones that worked!
