one climbed out of crib at naptime..HELP

what do to? suprised me seeing him walking into the LR saying ' no nap today' LOL Put him back in a few times and tell him to lay down and nap? I did that and put a doorknob cover on the door. That lasted about 5 minutes. How do you keep them in their rooms for rest time even if not napping? I NEED the break if even for just 30 minutes!!

 

Maybe a crib tent or a gate at the door?

My DD climbed out a few weeks ago and I gave the firm "NO, stay in your bed speech" and so far she has not done it again.

 

I have no answers, but sounds like you need big boy beds. So theywon't get hurt. My oldest kept going "THUD" on the floor so we got him a toddler bed when he turned 2, plus I was 6 months pg then and would need the crib.

 

I would get crib tents if you want to keep them in their cribs and still get a break. Or you can try switching to beds (we switched at about 27mths) but then the naps were gone for about a month for us and we had to seperate them for naps to get them started again. It took about two weeks for us to get a good bedtime routine going at night.

 

Well update...Zach also came walking into our room this morning too after a loud THUD Then josh is in his crib wailing me out too please! HA. Naps are pretty inconsistent as well so maybe toddler bed time it is! I do still want a gate for their door though that is unclimbable (is that a word?). TIA
