 about the thighs comment. I guess as long as your doctor isn't concerned.

I wouldn't worry unless your Dr. says to :)
Weight varies so much from person to person during pregnancy, and you are having twins!!!

i last stepped on a scale 10 days ago and was up 64lbs (i'm now 36w). my doc hasn't said anything since week 17 when i asked her about gaining too much, so i've stopped worrying about it for now. i'm giving my body until june 1 (will be about 10 weeks post-partum) to level itself out, then i'll join WW again. i know its hard to watch the numbers go up, but i'm encouraged by other twin mom's stories of losing weight after birth due to BF, busy schedules, and that sort of stuff. i agree with PP, if you're doc isnt' worried, don't stress.

I have gained about 43 pounds as well and I'm 28 weeks... Are you swollen? I have very swollen feet and calves (and HOPEFULLY THIGHS TOO!!!) and the doctor said that swelling actually weighs more than you think. I don't know about you but I am not eating all that much more... a little bit more, and mostly healthy stuff, but not enough to warrant THAT much weight gain. So I have to contribute it to swelling and the weight of the twins. My doctor wasn't too concerned either. So I think you are doing fine!

Maybe your thighs need to get a little bigger to carry your twins!

I'm 24 weeks and I'm up almost 50 lbs. I gained a lot during the IVF cycle and the first trimester when I couldn't seem to eat enough, but it's really slowed down now. I have reached a point where I'm not very hungry and I get full really quickly so I"m hoping that I won't gain too much more. I tend to have big babies and the twins are following suit so I'm telling myself that's why I'm so big. You know cause the 4lbs of baby somehow explains it.

I'm 23 weeks and I have gained 38 lbs. already. My Dr. said at the begining of the pregnancy that she would expect me to gain a total of 50 lbs. I had to laugh inside because I gained 57 lbs. with my singleton daughter! I expect to gain like 80 or something crazy like that this time around!

Yeah I am concerned for my thighs too!! I am 21 weeks and have gained 26 lbs but I swear it is all in my butt and thighs and it totally sucks!! I hate it so much. I was absolutely starving the first trimester and ate all the time and plus it helped me not feel so quesy. It has slowed down now though. I told myself I would be fine with gaining 50 lbs, but that is only 24 more and the babies weigh practically nothing yet! Oh well, we will be able to lose it.

Ahhh the thighs rubbing together… I forgot about that… well, like the PP don’t worry if your doc isn’t worried… I gained a lot and lost all but 8 of it by 6 w PP. I got weighed today… (because my 80 pound dog wouldn’t get on the scale, so I got on it w/ him and we subtracted what I weighed to know what he weighed…) and I actually weigh less than before I had my singleton 10years ago… so it will come off… my friends call it the twin work out… and one mom noted that all the moms of twins at my older sons school… are all skinny… I wouldn’t say I’m skinny 120 5’5… but I’m not the size I thought I would be after having twins  …

I agree with everyone else, everyone gains weight differently during pregnancy. I believe your body know how much it needs to gain. If you Dr. isn't concerned, then I would try not to worry about it.

It's quite a lot, I gained that in total, but agree with the others, everybody is different ... your doc will let you know when he's not happy!
