Hello, I just recently found out we are expecting in June. My twins are 32 months old and still go in strollers some, if I am out by myself, otherwise I fear them getting lost/taken from me. We use 2 umbrella strollers that I add those connectors to, and sometimes we use our Graco DuoGlider, but very little, they hate being one in front of the other. The back one kicks the front one.

Anyway, is there a good stroller for someone, like a sit and stand type, that would accomodate 2 nearly 3 year olds? They are small for their age, if that helps.

Is there another option? I really dont feel comfortable with them walking beside me, and we have the harness things, but those make me feel like I'm walking a dog and they end up on the floor in a tantrum. I'd rather avoid them.

    Thanks for any advice!

I'd put the new baby in a sling for he time being. Mine would not ride in a stroller at all after 3 so I'm afraid it would be a waste to buy a new stroller. Maybe you could also pit the baby in the back of the duo and let the twins take turns waking but that might cause fights too.

I vote for the sling option, too. I can't imagine the boys using the stroller much after 3. It is definately a less expensive approach to try first anyways. :unknw:

If yours are still used to riding in a stroller, I would look into a sit and stand. We had one (oh can not think of the name but it is red and black-I loved this one it folded down smaller than the others I looked at) when they were about that age for the zoo. One wanted to ride and the other liked to walk, sometimes they switched out and if I needed them to sit they would with snacks. This way you could also let them take turns walking with the "understanding" that if they can not stay near they would go into/onto the stroller. Honestly there were a couple of times I had two riding-standing and a bag of food/drinks in the seat. It is also nice to have the option of the stroller if you need to get in and out of somewhere quickly (not that in and out of the car is ever quick but it does speed up the trip inside). But it also has a carrier adapter so that you can put the baby up front if you wanted to and one or both could stand in back. Obviously depending on the total weight and your stamina! Good luck with the newest addition.

Our twins were 18 months and very much still in strollers (though walking a lot) when my son was born. I carried him in a sling a lot those first few months and put the twins in the stroller.

Now that he's bigger, we use a single stroller and the girls walk everywhere. They are 33 months now. Though they still want a stroller some of the time on long outings like the zoo, we will just carry them if they get tired. I am about to buy a sit-in-stand for that reason. I tried one in the store, and the girls can both sit on the little bench together. I was actually able to get one sitting forward facing, and the other sitting facing me and fit quite comfortably. They are both only about 24 pounds and 33" tall. Their younger brother is as big as them now at 15 months.

As for the running off part, we never used harnesses. We always just made the girls hang on to the stroller by asking them to help us 'push'. This started even before their brother was born, they'd want to get out and walk around. We'd let them so long as they pushed their stroller (this ensured they didn't run off from us) And now it's like second nature to them and they enjoy pushing their brother around....

My twins were 23 months when Liam was born. I had a Peg Perego Triplette, that I didn't like and I bought a used Baby Jogger triple (which they still sit in at 4 1/2). The jogger is wide, so it is really only good for walks at the beach around the neighborhood, etc. Not good for going shopping. I ended up buying a used Sit N Stand and the twins would ride/stand on the back (they are small) and the baby would sit in the front. What I really wanted was a Joovy Big Caboose, but I couldn't justify the $$.

Ainsley and Bea just turned three when Caleb came along. We were pretty much done with the stroller by that point. When we do larger outings like the zoo, DH is with me, so then we took the double plus the single for Caleb. I would like to get a Sit and Stand, as Ainsley sometimes has trouble keeping up. Maybe use the double, and have the twins take turns sitting? They may do OK without the stroller though.
