My 6 1/2 month old girls have dry patches on their skin - especially since the weather has turned so cold here. I use cetaphil lotion on them and it works great. I was wondering if anyone has used cetaphil cleanser as a babywash or if anyone knows if it's okay to do so?? I have tried Johnson's baby wash and Mustela baby wash, and they both seem to be a little drying for my girls during the winter... Thanks for any info!

Our pedi recommended the Cetaphil lotion at our 4 month well child to help with the irritation in their yucky neck folds. We've used it without any problems ( & DH does have some chemical allergic issues they could inherit).
I love the stuff! I actueally got the idea from my Grandfather! Sensitive skin runs in our family too. Also our Ped recc. it too!
You can also use the lotion- it's better for some babies that have skin issues- my pedi recommended it.
We started out with cetaphil and switched to Aquaphor(sp) wash, i didn't feel like the cetaphil "cleaned" the babies as well, i love the aquaphor, it is just a little pricey for the amount you use with 2 babies.
We were sent home with little bottles of Cetaphil cleanser when we brough the girls home from the hospital so it's definitely good to use.
our boys were bathed with it in the NICU and i have used it for years. we love it! it is also good to throw in your bag for the beach because you dont' have to use water with it, you can either leave it one or wipe it with a cloth.
I think it's fine. Our NICU used it on both our babies when they were just a couple of weeks old and were getting really bad diaper rash. I sitll use it on the babies when they get bad rashes around their mouths from drooling. Mona
