I've had babies before (singletons) and I was very blessed with easy babies. There were no nights spent crying or complete exhaustion or any of that. Of course I was tired from interrupted sleep but it was very manageable. I don't recall a point (such as the 3 month mark) where I felt like "wow, this is so much easier"

The twins are relatively easy. I say this only because they are pretty easy going and just start fussing when they are hungry. We just feed them and they are happy again (well..not crying or fussing) this goes on 24/7 every 3 hours. They are pretty much on the same schedule. They wake up within a half hour of each other to eat. The longest they have slept is 4 hours before waking for food. Well, at this stage, I wouldn't let them go longer than 4 hours until I get the ok from the dr. because they were slightly premature and need to keep their calorie intake up and we don't want their blood sugar to drop or anything. BUT anyway, I guess my question is this.

If your babies didn't/don't have any frustrating issues (colic for example) or waking every hour or anything similar, did/do you see a difference at 3 months? The thing I look forward to is a longer stretch of sleep at night, is that part of the "magical 3 month mark" ??

I'd love to hear your experiences.

My twins were not easy at all... there were many fussy nights, well every night.. and not a lot of sleep for us or them.

We didn't hit an easy patch until they were 4 months old when they would sleep through some nights.

With Katie she has been a complete different story, doesn't fuss a bit... slept through beginning at 1 month, only fusses when she is hungry. She has been an extremely easy baby.

It was 4 months for us but it was a huge change!! No more screaming fits in the eveings, started sleeping through the night etc.

    Hang in there!

We saw a huge change right at 14 weeks. Seeing as they were born at 38 weeks, I figured it was the "magical 12 week mark" that everyone talks about. In one week we went from DD only sleeping in bed with me to her sleeping in the pnp with her brother, DS started sttn (with a 10 p.m. dreamfeed), and DD dropped a night feeding, eating only at 4 a.m. for 10 minutes and right back to bed.

Right after their 3 month mark, they started sleping from 6:30 to about 2:30am (I just fished through my posts to find it)! According to my post (not my memory  ), before then, they were waking at around 12:45. So I'm thinking that they kept that feeding for a couple of weeks, then dropped down to just the 2ish one, and they usually woke for the day around 7am. My babies seemed like angels up until then and still do, BUT these are my first and I have nothing to compare them to. But they've never been colicky or fussy unless hungry. They don't even cry to be changed! So, yesI did see a change in terms of longer sleeping stretches so hang in there. And btw, mine are exclusively nursed. If yours are formula fed, you might see an even longer stretch even sooner. Hope this helps.

Mine are exclusively nursed as well.

Thank you for the responses! Looks like I just look forward to longer sleep stretches then.

We did see a very big improvement in sleep that happened rather suddenly, but for us it happened at 3.5 months. Our girls were born at 37 weeks, so we figured they were pretty much on schedule. Sarah started sleeping 11 hours or so -- Amy kept waking for feedings at 1:00 and 4:00 a.m. for another few months, but it's much easier to feed just one baby in the middle of the night! And she slept the whole rest of the time -- no wee-hours fussies.

Our DD started sleeping four hour stretches at six weeks at night and DS at 6.5. DD now sleeps 8-10 hours continuously at night and DS did 8 hours for the first time last night (6-7 hours before then). This is most nights for them. We've been adding to the night bottle to have DD do this constantly and to get DS over the four hour hump.

James was an easy baby. He didn't change dramatically at 3 months, he just continued being his same sweet self with the addition of SSTN. Sean was colicky and that 3 month mark couldn't come soon enough for me.

My boys sound a lot like your girls, very easy going and they usually only cry when they are hungry/tired. We did not have nights and nights of inconsolable crying or anything (at least not yet). the biggest change that I saw at three months was that they started sleeping longer stretches and now they are sleeping from 7-7 which is pretty awesome.

Mine have just now started to get a bit easier to handle and enjoy being around. The first 3 months were very hard for me b/c DD had reflux/colic/spitting up issues. It always seemed like one of them was in my arms. Now they pretty much are getting theirselves on a schedule and are in bed by 6 pm most nights. My babies usually sleep until 2 or 3 am. DD is formula fed and gets up a lot more to eat during the night than DS who is breastfed. There are about 4-5 nights a week breastfed DS will STTN from 6-6 but DD who is formula fed has not slept through the night yet.

My girls are really close to yours in age and I guess we've been quite lucky with them. They are formula fed and usually they get a feeding around midnight and usually will sleep until about 5 am. Good luck to you. I'm sure it will happen soon. It just seems like they'll never sleep.
