so i bought the graco duo glider stroller with the snug ride infant seats and i am putting this together thinking "gee this isn't so bad"......WRONG, then i try and snap the infant seats into the stroller and my god is this thing HUGE! i've given up on putting the rest of it together it's just so complicated, or at least to my pregnant brain.

but never once during this pregnancy have i felt robbed to be having multiples vs a singleton until now....the stroller is as long as the double door closet in the nursery. a singleton stroller would be half the size and half the hassle.

EEK! how am i going to manage this BEAST of a stroller??

The duo-glider is HUGE! I was so happy to get rid of it and get my Combi SBS. Its very narrow (for a double stroller) and it fits through doors and is easy to maneuver. If I had to do it again, I would have just got a double Snap 'n go in the beginning for the car seats and then got my SBS and not wasted my time with the duo-glider. It is huge, heave and cumbersome!

You'll be fine once you get used to it! It's such a lifesaver for getting out of the house. And when you have an appointment or need groceries and the babies are napping, it's heavenly to just plop them into the car in their carrier and where ever you need to go.

haha, I know how you feel! We got the graco quatro duo and are trying to figure out how to clip the car seats in there. I am thinking about getting a double snap n go on craigslist for the first couple of months and then using the big stroller.

Funny, I never felt that way! I have the duoglider as well ... although I never used it with the car seats, I used my snap and go while they were in the car seats ...

people on here always complain about the size and weight of the duoglider and honestly, it never bothered me! My guess is you'll get used to it ... and you'll have strong arms to boot!

Yeah, we have the Joovy Caboose Double stroller with the sit/stand and HUGE is an understatement!! My parents bought it for us and I don't have the heart to take it back....its GYGUMBO! We have 2 single strollers from Grifyn and they are soooo nice compared to this beast of a contraption!

I don't even think taht it will fit folded up in the van!!!

It has never bothered me either. :)

I still use my duoglider with my 3 year olds at time. It took me awhile to get used to it, especially since I had a singleton and had a regular size stroller with her, but you will get used to how big it is. I just laugh and joke about how big it is. And really I had no choice in the matter with having two.

I can even whip it in and out of the van very quickly now. You will get used to it, don't worry. :)

i bought it because it was so highly reviewed but it's soooo complicated to put together. we have the sterling model my dad says it's ugly...lol but i insisted that we have it. i'll be happy once i figure it out. i just got so frustrated with the snug ride car seats.

and here's the kicker, i drive a 4 door honda civic...lol....this should be interesting.

We bought the baby trend snap and go but now I am thinking about getting the joovy double caboose with sit/stand. Our youngest will be about 15 months when the twins arrive so I am thinking about that one so we can all leave the house at least once during the week LOL. So would you not recommend it? I can only order it online so I don't have a chance to see and compare.

I have to admit that I have a graco quattro tour travel system for my singleton and I hate the more compact stroller we bought for her and am refusing to use it til the twins come, it's definitely not as nice as my travel system so maybe I would like the big cadillac stroller...I dunno. I can't see any way of getting around by myself with a 15 month old and 2 newborns without the joovy??? But then again I can't see myself managing to leave the house anyway.

I'm another person who agrees with Kyrstyn. The Duo Glider was a huge waste of money for us. I hated how it moved (really stiff compared to our fantastic SBS), and wish I had just gotten the Double Snap and Go for carseats and then moved to the SBS once we were done with carseats.

Can you take the Duo Glider back? If so, DO IT! Get a Snap and Go instead and you'll thank yourself afterwards.

I had the Graco Quattro Duo & it did seem SUPER long & heavy in the beginning ~ once I got used to it it wasn't so bad :good:
I did love getting my Combi SBS when they were 7 months though!! Much lighter & smaller!

I think that I am going to like my Graco Quatro Tour. It may be because it was already assembled...the infant car seat which only carries up to 20-22 lbs. fits perfectly into the stroller. Hopefully you will get use to it .

I got the same Graco duoglide with click in seats from a friend. It took me about an hour to figure out all the seats, pulls, how to unlatch the carriers, etc. Not bad since I haven't got a clue about strollers. The hubby did it all really quickly and loves it.
I didn't have any problems navigating it up and down the sidewalks, street, and around the yard. We did a trial on it before we decided it would work fine.

It does seem big and clunky, but I'm betting it will hold up better. Anything I get has got to be made to take a beating.

but, in all seriousness, I would make sure it fits in your trunk while you can still return it.

Make sure it fits in your trunk! If it doesn't fit, I'd return it and get a snap-n-go stroller frame to hold your infant carriers. We used one with the Graco seats and it was a dream. Very light to get in and out of the trunk-which was a must since I had complications with my vaginal/c-section deliveries and the incision had healing issues. We then moved to a Combi SBS stroller and loved it. It folds compactly and will fit in any trunk that can carry a loaded golf bag.

I have to laugh about the comments about how complicated it is to put together. My son was 5 when my twins were born. He opened up the box and without even looking at the directions put the entire thing together, except the back wheels that had to be hammered on. But then he's rather an engineering whiz, just intuitively figuring out how to build/create/put together all kinds of fabulous contraptions... da Vinci is his hero!

I really liked the Duo Glider, actually. I'd had another double stroller with my oldest 2 kids that I actually got rid of a week before I found out I was expecting twins. I was so happy I had, because I know I would have just suffered through with the thing. It was impossible to steer with one hand and a pain to open and close. The Duo Glider is soooo much easier, with just one little switch to collapse it. It steers just fine w/ one hand (wonderful when you're holding a fussy baby in the store), and seems to fit down most any aisles or through standard doors just fine. There may be fancier, lighter or narrower ones out there, but for the money, I was very happy with the Duo Glider!!!

add me to the list of agreeing.
I remember the first time I actually used my stroller. It took me & MIL a good 15 minutes to figure out how to get the darn thing open out of the locked position folded up.
Then another 10 minutes to get the seats in. I thought going places was going to be miserable. Fast forward 15 months, I coudlnt live without it. I could do that thing in my sleep and thank God they make strollesr that hold 2 babies, my purse, all my groceries, and my coffee :)

    Give yourself an adjustment period.

I really like the Duo Glider. It's bulky for sure but that's hard to avoid with a double stroller. It is really easy to maneuver around stores, very smooth and I can steer it with one hand. We have a double umbrella stroller that we use for outdoor excursions and it won't fit through doors, it's more difficult to steer and I had to get used to not stepping on the center wheel. Each has it's pros and cons.

We the girls were still newborns, I'd see people walking down the street and think "that stroller looks weird" and then I'd realize it was only a single stroller. They looked so small, like part of the stroller was missing.

I had an eddie bauer front/back double stroller, and it was a beast to turn, nice if you had a ton of room! I'm not sure about the graco, but I hope it works out or at least if doesn't you can take back!

I have gotten the double snap n go, and graco snug rides. I also have the double sbs maclaren, I love it.. although I haven't put babies in it yet, haha. My 5 year old and 50lbs has riden around in one side of it and still pushes easy and all his weight on one side doesn't seem to make it much harder! I was wondering about the combi when I was deciding on which side by side to get, but found some bad reviews! I should have just asked you ladies because it sounds like you love the combi!!

I had to buy a triple... it's an absolute miracle it fits in the back of my Impala!!! My husband calls the stroller the extreme kid limo. I was shocked at how light it is and how easy it is to turn... we bought it used (Baby Trend from 3 years ago). Can't afford $450. Doesn't fit carseats though... but it was all we could get that would fit.

I had a Ford Focus and a Saturn Ion and the DuoGlider fit in both trunks (along with a weeks worth of groceries) so I'm sure it will fit in your Civic...

I had the DuoGlider (still have it although mine refuse the stroller anymore and are fairly good about holding hands or riding in carts) and while it was heavy it held up well and took a hell of a beating (and a few pukes!)

personally I hate SBS strollers - they're too wide and cumbersome for me!

We registered for a Duo Glider and got it. It was a bit difficult for DH to put together and I had trouble initially unfolding it but once we got our groove down, it was a huge help, especially with the kids in the snug ride seats. It was nice to take sleeping twins out of the car and put them into the stroller, still sleeping. It does take time to get used to but we liked it. Good luck!
