I have to say my house is a wreck!

We have folks over semi often and that's one of the reason's I love to host, the house gets clean/organized! Luckily we live far enough out where people don't often pop by!

I voted to give me an hour as well. I clean all day Saturday so during the week it's just basically picking up toys and stuff and it would be company clean.

I voted for the give me 15 minutes and I am ready. Which is generally true. I like to keep up with things so when I go to clean it doesn't take 10 times longer.

Usually, my house is company ready all the time. Right now, it's "give me an hour" before anyone is allowed past the front door. Everything is a disaster (which is why I'm sitting here on the computer instead of cleaning, right?) and the guest bath is scary. Today the kitchen/dining room is clean, but the living room could use some work.

Oh my house it is a total wreck! I could seriously use a cleaning lady.

If we are having company, it takes up about 4 hours the day before to clean this place from top to bottom. :D

I chose an hour but might be closer to 2. And if it needs to be vaccummed than u need to give my DH the day as he moves every piece of furniture etc to clean under it all. :D

I voted 'give me an hour,' but I'm also getting used to having people over when the house is a wreck. We are remodeling our house so between that mess and the baby stuff that has taken over our living room (our den is part of the remodel), I just have to give up the idea of a perfectly neat and clean house. One room I always make sure is clean is the guest bathroom just because. The living room might need to be vaccumed, but I figure my guests will forgive me if the bathroom is clean with clean towels. -Leighann

15 minutes. I have my house divided up into "zones" for my 3 big kids. When I say "Everyone go do your zones" they jump into action and the whole place is straightened in less than 15 minutes. I have upstairs zones, downstairs zones, and outside zones :)

Give me an hour WITH DH helping, and babies sleeping, and MAYBE we would be ready. Maybe we could strap mops to the girls hands & knees! ;)

I voted always completely clean... I am a neat freak to a flaw! But at the moment half of my basement contents in stuffed into every nook and crany of our upstairs since our flood on mothers day - fathers day!! We will be back into the basement in a month or so! So at the moment it is cluttered but clean.

I would say give me an hour. I try to keep the house clean; however, sometimes it does get a little messy! Also we are moving right now so that doesn't really help.

Nope, we had to break down recently and hire a cleaning service for the major stuff (tubs, floors, etc.) because it just was not getting done very often. Now when DD starts back to preschool in the fall, it MAY be a bit cleaner, but as of now I spend all day just picking up after her, she's my little tornado. I can't imagine when I have 3 mobile tornados on my hands!

THat said, there are days when almost every room is minutes away from being presentable but it's definitely not always this way.

I need an hour, too although I clean alllll the time! I hate a messy house, but my gosh, it takes no time at all for it to be messy again.

AND...I'm so glad to hear it might get better after year one! Right?! I hope!

I voted 15 minutes. However, this is just for the downstairs "company" areas. For a full house tour, get me a cleaning service!

It doesn't help that our basement completely flooded when the babies were 5 days old and our whole basement is a shambles with stacks of stuff everywhere.

I have a clean house but, I voted give me an hour. The family room where the toys are is always a bomb explosion except when the kids go to bed. The rest of the house is clean but, I always vacuum when someone is coming over even if it has already been done that day. I also like a quick wipe down of baths.

I clean daily by vacuuming and wiping kitchen and baths down. I also mop 3 times a week. So, in a real pinch I can do it in 15 minutes.

I voted 15 minutes, but we have company every week and my guests are "used to" our level of clean. I'm pretty relaxed about it. I pick up, put away dirty dishes, and make sure the toilets aren't gross. That's my idea of company clean LOL!

Difficult question since people have different opinions on what is "company" clean. I clean (sweep, dust, mow, etc.)our house everyday so it is always clean. However, it's sometimes messy because our 3 year old is constantly getting out more toys. I voted an hour, but I think most people would consider our house almost always "company" clean considering we have 3 kids under 3. I went to a friend's house a few weeks ago and I was shocked, there were clothes, toys, etc covering the entire floor from living room, dining room to kitchen. I apoligized for showing up unexpectingly, but she acted like it was perfectly normal. My house would never look like that, nor would I ever open the door for someone if my house looked like that!

depends on what kind of company! If we mean like, having a dinner party, the answer is no way. If we mean a couple freinds or family members, i'm about 15mins...

my house was spotless before the girls were born - now between them and having to take care of my dad - you better give me a couple of hours!

My standards have changed. With two toddlers, a packrat DH, and a large dog following behind me and messing it up again, it's pretty silly to expect it to be neat. I shoot for "hygenic chaos".

I voted 15 minute and I am ready. Really the only mess I have is toys scattered all over the place... and maybe some clutter on the kitchen cabinets... but my house is so small there is no where to put everything, LOL

I voted an hour notice but that's because I'm completely anal and feel this need to "impress" people with my clean house when they come over. I put all the toys away (which within an hour turns out to be pointless ;) ) I clean the kitchen counters, put all the dishes away, clear and clean the kitchen table (it's glass so it can get nasty looking quickly), make sure the 1/2 bath downstairs is clean and put away anything not in it's place.

The upstairs??? Well, that's a different story. Let's just say I'm not one to usually make the bed :D

Right now, its a wreck. I'd need a few days notice and even then I'd be pushing it. Normally, I like to keep it at the "Give me 15 minutes (But don't open any closets)" level. I voted in between, "Give me an hour" because this is not normal for us. We're in the middle of changing the function of 3 rooms and getting rid of accumulated junk too. It's taking WAY longer than expected!
