I bought the gerneric nuby straw sippy the other day and before i put anything in it i put water in it and flipped it all around and water was pouring from it. I did the same with the other (it was a 2 pack) and same thing.. I unscrewed and rescewed the top thinking it was something I did and got the same end result.
I took those pack to the store and bought 2 Nuby cups and now they are leaking.... This one didnt deem to leak until I closed the top and it bent the straw but still I need a cup that does not leak just b/c it was flipped over.

So whats the BESt sippy cup that does NOT leak......

    thanks a million

I use the Nuby straw sippys and have not had that problem. They get a little water at the end of the straw and that sometimes will leak out if played with. I bought the ones that they can close if they want too. Sorry your having such problems I know that all sippys will leak sooner then later it always happens here.

Good luck on your quest for the non leaking cups :good:

The best for not leaking I have found are the Gerber cups. We started off with the soft spout ones (see the first link) and now use the fun grips (second link). They will leak a bit if they turn them upside down and bang them but it takes alot to spill more than a few drops. I have never in all my years with kids found a straw cup that doesn't leak more than I want it to. I let Aaron (almost 3) use a straw cup now because he understands he can't turn it upside down. The twins don't get that yet.

We just got the Munchkin straw sippies (Thanks Sharon!!) and they do not leak. We've used Playtex sippies all along, but their straw cups leaked all over. The Munchkin ones (we have the ones with Dora on them) have been great... a little tricky to get the straw back in the first time, but they have not leaked (and my kids are good at finding ways to make cups leak :) )

We've had great success with the Nuby straw sippies.. but NOT the insulated ones.. the insulated ones leaked all over the place.. but the solid color, uninsulated ones work great.. they do eventually start leaking though because sometimes it seems the lids get warped and stop screwing on all the way. Or my boys chew on the tops I guess and the valves in the straw part break apart and some fluid can come out that way. I'm trying to now get my boys to drink out of something besides a straw sippy but they arent completely getting it yet :)

    Okay, Nuby straw users....HELP.

How do they NOT leak? I have the straw ones (with handles and without) and all you have to do is tilt it a little sideways and water comes running out of the filter - not the straw itself. I have examined this thing until I'm ready to launch it across the room and I don't see how it won't leak. Inserting the hard straw into the colored piece is fine. Then you insert that into the cup lid itself, but it doesn't lock into place. It just presses against the top of the lid. It would seem that if it locked into place, that it wouldn't leak right out of the filter. Does that make sense?

I'm still sold on the Avent Magic trainers and Playtex cups. They aren't straws, but leak the least. I'm using those again because I'm SO frustrated.

Our boys have been using the Munchkins straw cups and they don't seem to leak much. But I have to say the Playtex sippy cups seem to hold better. I got the Muchchkins straw cups from Costco, set of 4 in Diego designs. You could close the straw that I found very useful if you are on the go.

The part that you are saying doesn't lock into place, are you talking about teh actual soft straw part that they suck on? Because when you put it together you have to pull that part through the bottom of the lid until it does lock into place.. then you insert the hard plastic part into it, and line up the widest part of the hard plastic piece with the little indentation in the soft straw part.. then insert the clear straw piece. Did that make any sense at all? :)

We use the Munchkin straw sippy cups here and haven't had too many problems with them. We have the ones where you can put it in the freezer for 30 minutes before you put something in it and it will stay colder longer for when you are out and about!

My girls use the nuby straw cups and the munkins straw cup (the dora ones) Both are pretty good at not leaking.
I tried the playtex and it leaked if the cover was not down. Since my girls never put the cover down it did not work for us.

Okay - I just reviewed my putting-together-cup skills. It appears that I didn't push the soft straw up high enough on the colored piece. When I got it over the lip and reinserted into the lid - NO MORE LEAKS!!!!! I held it upside down and the only thing that would come out is a little bit of water if it happened to be in the top of the straw. It is also making air bubble sounds now.

I rest my case against the Nuby cups. :)
