Now, I have been putting my little ones down at about 5:30pm for the "night" after their 4:30 feeding. Then, they get up at 11pm and 4am. I would love to push the time back a bit. Should I not put them down for the night at 5:30? Should I let them nap again, play, then feed before the final time I put them down for the night?
What do you think? It is just too early to put them down it seems. They will never make it through doing this...
    Help me!!

I would...maybe they could lose one of those nighttime feeds if you did that. At that age, my twins had their last bottle between 8 and 9, they gradually just moved it earlier, now they go down at 7. [IMG]

I agree with Becky, at that age we wouldn't put ours down until around 8-9. And then like Becky they gradually moved it up because they slept longer. They go to bed at 7:30.

Let us know how it goes tonight. Please update us! [IMG] The reason I ask is because we are experiencing something very similar. Last night was a little different because we stayed up to watch the game
[IMG] The Bears lost... anyway, they went to bed around 8/9 last night and both slept pretty well! My dh thinks it was a fluke, I may have to agree. They usually go to bed around 630 and that's pushing it. It would be nice to put them down a little later. Let us know what happens, maybe we'll be doing some changes ourselves. THANKS!

I will post tomorrow...my expectations are getting too big right now...I am dreaming of a nice sleep tonight...ha ha

We would put ours down between 7:30 and 8pm with their last bottle being close to 7:30. Then we would get them up at 10:30-11pm for a dreamfeed. This seemed to work well. Good luck!

My girls did the same thing slightly younger than yours. My pedi told me to be happy because that was the first sign of wanting to sleep through the night. The next feeding was dropped (by them) a couple of weeks later and at 4 months, 1 week, we were only getting up at 3 or 4 a.m. Their pedi told us that it was most likely for comfort rather than hunger and to not do that feeding anymore. With one daughter, it worked instantly, the other one it took a week to get used to being without momma at 4 a.m. They have been sleeping 10.5-12 hours (a couple of whimpers here and there) for about 2 weeks now. Good luck!

Darn...last night wasn't as great....boooooo! My dd just keeps getting up at 3:30am EVERY NIGHT!! I do not feed her because she goes back to bed, but I rush in there so she doesn't wake her brother. Should I just let her yell/talk for awhile? She is not crying...it is actually really cute the way she sounds...but, not so much fun after that...
Then, DS got up at 4:30 to eat, DD at 5:30...now, they are alseep again.
    ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
My ds just doesn't eat enough during the day, either.

So, we had a setback, but I going to keep going!! THey went down very well last night at 7:30pm!!

PS-our dreamfeed was at 12...is that too late?

I have never done a dreamfeed, I am an early-to-bed kinda girl, so it would defeat the purpose! [IMG]How often are you feeding them during the day? As soon as I got mine on a good 3 hour sched, they started sleeping better. Another thought would be cluster feeding them before bed.

I don't know if you are FF or BF...but eventually they will drop that early morning (4amish) feed. My twins are 2 weeks older than yours and our day goes something like this:

    7am - up & breakfast
    8:30am- down for a nap
    11am - lunch #1
    12:30pm - down for a nap
    3pm - lunch # 2 + cereal for DS
    4:3-5ish- down for a nap
    7pm - dinner bottle
    7:30pm - bedtime
    10pm - I wake them for a bottle

I decided not to do the dreamfeed because it didn't disturb their sleep cycle and were still getting up at 4am even though they weren't hungry. So, I decided to actually change them and cuddle for a bottle instead. I do DD first as she doesn't take as much, then do DS and then I dreamfeed DD the last bit of her bottle. They normally sleep til 7am and I have to wake them at 7am! Sometimes they fuss a bit around 5am but they put themselves back to sleep. They have both discovered that babbling is so much fun this last week, so they are talking to each other until they go back to sleep.

I am so happy we have no sleep problems, not even for naps. I think they reason they sleep so well at night is because they nap so well during the day - they have 2 two hour naps and then about an hour catnap.

My suggestion is don't rush in there right away...give her a few minutes to see what she'll do. My DD is pretty loud with her cries so I did this too and then I got too tired and just let her fuss and DS didn't wake up at all. It is worth a shot anyway.

Keep at it, I'm sure you will discover their natural nightime patterns soon!
