I'm not sure what to do with our schedule. It *used* to go like this:
Wake between 7-730(except on my work days 3x/week they get up around 620-640),
    nap 1230-230ish,
    bedtime anywhere between 630-730.

Lately they have been getting up earlier, like around 630, and not wanting to nap and instead run around like banshees in their room and then have a melt down and then go to bed earlier. Orrrr....they take a nap and take forever to fall asleep at bedtime. They DON'T run around like banshees at night just lay by the door talking and then get in bed eventually I guess when they are tired and fall asleep regardless of whether they nap or not.

I was thinking they might just be ready to give up the nap (wahh!) but after today that was clearly not the case as JT had a meltdown from 3pm until he crashed and fell asleep at 440 over a graham cracker that he accidentally broke and threw in the trash even though I told him they were all gone. and Jack was on and off whiney crying the entire time. Part of me is saying that it will just take them getting used to the new schedule but with Hannah trying to nap around the same time the poor pumpkin is getting woken up from her nap by all the screaming/crying!!! The daycare said they nap wonderfully when there!

What would you do keeping in mind you have a 1 year old who's nap usually overlaps with theirs??! I would prefer to keep their bedtime on the earlier side as we do wake them early 3x/week.

    Thanks!!!:)

My little girl (I have b/g twins) did this around the same exact age. It was the first two weeks of January and I remember getting so frustrated...eventually it sorted itself out, but I did have to move their nap back to 1 or 1:30pm. I wake them up by 3:30 and then bedtime is 7:30pm, but they talk in the room until 8:30pm most nights...but last night was until 9pm. They wake up between 6:30am and 7:30am (that's a good day). Not sure if that helps -- but I would definitely move back the nap to 1 or 1:30pm. OH, and I'm not sure how much stimulation they get but I do recall doing a lot more activities (physical) like bouncy houses (I bought one) or make believe playing, or the mall play area (now parks), etc. Good luck!

I'm hoping its just a phase..my nephew went through this too (he's 3wks older) and my sister just drove him around in the car lol!
You know whats weird, the 1st day they took absolutely no nap (today was 2nd), they played outside in the heat between their pool and sand for 3.5 hours and didn't go down for nap until 1:15!! I was REALLY at a loss that day as what to do with them!!!! Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone though and that it might really just be a phase!

I would continue on with what you're doing... just laying them down and hoping beyond hope they sleep. I'm in the same boat. My 2 year old has to nap and when the twins don't it's really hard for him to sleep <_< But for us it tends to be a phase that lasts a week or so and then we can go for a month with great naps. Good luck!

We dropped naps around that time. Instead we have a quiet time after lunch. That is the time of day we watch TV for on hour. That is the only time we have it on and it gives them time to recharge and have some down time. My kids have always done about the 7 to 7 schedule at night and naps were worth sacrificing for that night. I started getting them to bed at 6:30 for a while and that helped wtih the dropping naps.

    Good luck.
