I was pretty sick with DS but I was able to work until 8 months... with the babies I was in and out of the ER starting at 7 weeks with dehydration and had a few shots of Zofran plus an Rx of Reglan that I had to take almost the entire pregnancy. I was kind of nauseous this time around but last night it all started again... I'm not holding anything down (water or food) and I can barely move. DH is going to Louisiana on business next week and I feel awful!! I was not expecting it to be this bad and I'm feeling really bad for the babies... they are cuddled up next to me while I try not to puke! :(

Did anyone have hyperemesis with twins and have normal/regular morning sickness in subsequent pregnancies... I'm still holding out hope this is a bug and not hyperemesis again!!

I don't have any experience with hyperemesis, but wanted to say that that the normal pregnancy symptoms (nauseau, feeling tired) was VERY exaggerated with the girls as opposed to my singleton pregnancies. I hope this is the same for you because I know how hard it is when your not feeling great and you have little ones to take care of.

Hang in there and keep posititve thoughts that it won't be as bad as last time!

I had severe hyperemesis with the twins. In and out of the hospital. I was finally on Zofran for almost all of my pregnancy. When I got pregnant with Joy I was terrified. It was not at all the same. I think I threw up once. I was queasy and felt yucky from week 9 to 14 or so, but then I was fine.

All the women in my family had severe hyperemesis with their first pregnancy. (the twins were my first) and it was less and less with each one. Though I was the only one that had twins, my sisters and my Mom all had similar experiences with singeltons.

I really hope this goes away! :hug99: If not, you know what you need to do. You have to stay well to take care of the kids! My twins were exposed to Zofran for almost the entire pregnancy and are extremely healthy little boys. Take care of yourself!

I'm the exact opposite. I had NO morning sickness whatsoever with the girls. With a singleton pregnancy prior to that (m/c) I had severe hyperemesis that went untreated (at the time I didn't know what it was and thought it was normal pregnancy stuff) with this one I've thrown up a few times now and gagged a thousand more.

I think the difference was with the girls I had been taking vitamin B-6 in addition to my prenatals for the entire time we were trying (about 3 months I think at that point) and took it throughout the pregnancy. Since I started taking it again this pregnancy, I've noticed a huge difference in my energy level AND my morning (or night in my case) sickness. Good thing about B-6 is it is water soluable, so if you have access in your system, you just pee it out. No worries about overloading on it.

I've been taking a super B complex and my prenatals for the last two weeks. I'm going to the ER tonight for a shot of Zofran, I can't function and the pills take a day or two to take affect. I know I'm being a big baby but I'm just so sick. I assumed it would be less m/s since there is just one. I don't know how I'm going to do this!! :cray:

:hug99: Oh I'm so sorry you are sick! I hope it is just a bug that will pass! I can't imagine being alone with the other kids and so sick! Ok, I can't imagine morning sickness with two toddlers! I hope it gets better!

I had hyperemesis with both pregnancies. Granted the twins pregnancy was more intense. I lived off of Zofran for most of my pregnancies with visits to the hospital many times. I had to have a pic line with both pregnancies. I hope you feel better soon. It is so hard being sick and trying to take care of a little toddler let alone two! :hug99:

One bright side, zofran went to generic so it will be a lot cheaper.

Many hugs and I hope you feel better soon!

Oh no, I hope it's not hyperemesis again. How horrible. I watched my SIL suffer through this with both of her pregnancies and it's just miserable. I hope it's just a bug and you feel better soon!

I feel for you Erykah. I got so SO sick with the pregnancy at 6 weeks I could barely stand it. I was in tears and didnt know how I was going to make it through. I didnt have hypermesis but it turned out I had a blood disease my body reacted and rejected iron, folic acid, potasium, and vitamin B. I cant remember what its called I am asking my DR to write it down when I go monday. They switched me to a different prenatal that has the active forms of the vitamins I need and I was put on Hydrozyn Pam and within 2 weeks I was feeling better. My girls are older and understood why I was laying around so much and tried to take care of me. I felt so bad they felt for them but I am glad they understood. I hope its just a bug and it goes away for you.

Well I went in and got four bags of IV fluids, a shot of zofran and three hours of uninterrupted rest. That was the best $50 I ever spent!!

I'm feeling much better today and the Zofran was only $10 as opposed to the $200 it cost a few years ago! The doctor also gave me reglan to increase my breastmilk because I was so dehydrated and my supply really dipped and he said, "that's no way to wean the babies." He was a very understanding doctor (he has seven kids) and now he thinks I'm having a boy, his wife was sickest with their boys. I'm still a little nauseous but able to eat and drink. Thanks for letting me have a pity party yesterday!

My story is exactly like Cristina's. I was so scared when I got pregnant with my son..because I thought I was going to be so sick again. I was so happy that wasn't the case. I hope you feel better soon..and your sickness goes away fast this time.
