Again today...we started out with our fruit while I got the rest of the lunch together and once again my 21 month old sons started dropping it on the floor left and right.

They got their warning...didn't stop....I took their trays away and pushed them into the corners and let them sit....

Then they got a 2nd chance...they blew it....so..I cleaned them up and lunch is over before it even started.

I HAVE to stand firm...I'm so sick of them doing that...but now the guilt is setting in.

I know they will not starve but it doesnt help the guilty feelings at all UGH!

Look at it this way: first yr was about feeding, growing, sleep training, second yr is all about boundaries, discipline. 2 yr old toddlers think theyre the kings and queens, they can get/do whatever they want, and that their parents are their slaves... U have to be strong and tough. Dont feel bad or guilty. Dont show them u are angry. The more u show, the worse they will be. Gl! I know its a tough battle.

Maybe I should try that. My 21 month old boys do the same thing....they get a warning, a time out but doesn't seem to deter them. I was thinking about a time out in their cribs, but haven't had the guts yet to just end the meal. Good for you. I'm sure it'll pay off! Let us know how it goes.

TravelBug- i woulnt recommend timeout in the crib. My SIL watched the kids when I had my twins and she used Dd2's crib. She hated her crib after that. I think SIL must have overreacted and had her in there too much too. But, she hated her crib, banging head against rails abd then started climbing out. we had to convert her tons toddler bed and she's been a bad sleeper since.
