This afternoon as I was trying (sigh) to put Vivian down for a nap, she kept chewing on my knuckle. I felt something hard in her gum in one spot - the spot she kept trying to rub on my knuckle. I checked and there's a sharp little baby tooth just under the surface. So I checked Eleanor's mouth when she woke and sure enough, there's a tooth just waiting to arrive in her mouth too. I have no idea how long it takes to go from just barely visible under the surface to being a real tooth... but I suspect we'll have teeth in our house before too long! Now I know why the girls have been chewing on anything they can reach. I guess I need to go out and get some teethers. Has anyone tried the wood teething rings from Haba or anything similar?

Wow, teeth on the way! That's so exciting!

My babies are still working on it. They ADORE wooden Haba toys! They never seem to get bored of them, and they're very good for teething.

Woo Hoo for teeth! My Genevieve has been playing with her new tooth all week :) and McKenna has one just under the surface! It may sound funny, but it totally seems like Genevieve is super proud of her little tooth!

As far as how quickly those teeth will come in - if you are already feeling them just under the skin - they can pop through almost overnight. The boys are seven months old and I kept telling my daughter they were just under the skin. She insisted she didn't feel anything and they next day they both had two bottom teeth. Now one has two bottom and two top and we have two more just under the surface for a total of 6 and this was in just the space of a little over a week. Brother still has two with two more coming in. We went from gummers to biters in a week and they can really clamp down with those little teethies.

Haba toys are the best! We have a few of the wooden rings and the girls love them!
