Well - we are heading to the pedi again today for Mia's bottle issues. She is averaging 18 ounces a day but that is still a battle. I feel like I am trying to feed her all day!

Since she has been on the same formula since birth and is not spitting up half as much as she used to (even though the Axid wasn't doing anything so we took her off it) we are all baffled. The pedi suggested coming in to talk about it and get her weighed so we can see if she is gaining.

I am beginning to think I am going to be taking this kid into the doctor for food issues for a long time. I guess that my husband and I were both the same way when we were young. Thank God Emma loves her food - I don't think I could handle two non-bottle drinkers!

On and side note - I am trying to put the girls down for their nap and their new thing is to pull the crib bumpers down so they can see each other then they lay there and laugh at each other - oh brother!

Has she had an Upper GI done yet? If she is refusing to eat, it probably hurts her to eat and they begin to fight off everything. My son, at 3, still has oral sensory issues :( Stupid reflux

Dont you just love it when they start to really notice eachother, may be a pain but sooo cute

She hasn't had a GI done yet - I will bring that up today and see what they say.

And you're right - SO cute that they laugh and "talk" to each other - but not so cute when you want them to sleep!

Ugh, stupid reflux. I was so hoping the Axid would help. Does she take her solids well? Ask if you can try her on whole milk, see what he says. She might like it better. Also ask about Prevacid, my babies did well on the Axid for awhile and then Jake had to be switched to Prevacid, and it seems to be the best out of all the ones we tried. They were also on Reglan for about 4 months, it helps empty their stomachs faster, but it's a short-term med. Hope you get some answers today. :hug99: Keep us updated.

    OK - we're back.

She thinks that it is behavioral. She said for the next 5-7 days feed her when they are supposed to be fed, when she stops eating give her a few minutes then try again. When her sister, who has been eating well, is done give her one more try. If she doesn't want it then stop. Don't force her, make a fuss or fight with her about it. Then don't try to get her to drink milk until the next feeding. She did say to offer juice and water so that she doesn't get dehydrated or constipated. But she thinks that it is 100% behavioral. She even tried to get her to take a bottle so I am happy that it isn't just us!

She really doesn't think that there is anything medical going on. I asked about reflux and she doesn't think that is it. I also mentioned cow's milk and she wants us to wait till 1 year. She weighed her and she has gained 3 ounces in the last 2 weeks - which isn't good, but she is not losing weight so that is great.

    Anyway - the saga continues

I understand ... we've had our share of issues from reflux. Have you tried giving her more solids? The ENT told me to start transitioning to more solids, less formula, due to reflux issues. They are at the age now that it's okay to do that (if the doctor says it's ok). Anyways, maybe she'll like eating solids more.
