    Hey!
The past few nights my dd has been sleeping extremely odd. She will sleep in a sitting position. She falls asleep laying down {we watch on monitor} then during the night gets in the sitting position and sleeps like that! For hours! She only cries when we go in and lay her down, but only for a few seconds. She has been sitting for months and knows how to get into and out of that position, so it isn't something new, you know? I don't get why she prefers to do this, she also wakes up tired, it seems. Anyone else experience anything like this? Also, today after her nap, there was a little drop of blood on her sheets, turns out she scratched her ear so bad that it bled. What is going on with her? I feel bad but don't know what to do?? TIA

Oh Liz, at first I was laughing, but then, a scratch, poor baby! Is she sick at all? I was thinking if she was sick, maybe she has an ear infection and it hurts to sleep laying down? Also, the scratch by her ear, maybe she scratched it because it's bugging her? Poor little Angie!

Or...maybe since she can't walk yet she's invented sleep sitting instead of sleep walking? Or... since Anthony isn't giving you a hard time at the moment, she decided to, because, otherwise, life would be way to easy. You know I had to throw some funnies in there!

I was laughing also, the picture in my head of a little one asleep sitting up was funny. But what becky said about an ear infection sounds likely. I have heard that lying down can be painful with an ear infection. I hope that's not what it is, they can be horrible! Poor baby! But otherwise I have never heard of a baby sleeping sitting up. DH is a pro at it, but I have never seen the twins do anything like that!! Mine like to sleep on their knees with their arms tucked under them and their butts in the air.

Oh don't worry, I had a few good laughs myself! :p I think she looks funny trying to keep balance while in a deep sleep.

Thanks guys! I hope it isn't an ear infection. Last time they had ear infections they would cry the whole time I left them on their back...now it doesn't seem to be the same case, but I do have to call her ped. Ugh! Not that I mind going but Becky, you're right, if it isn't one it's the other! I thought we were in the clear now with this stuff.
If she doesn't have any other cold symptoms, could they still get ear infections? I thought they were only when they had colds, but I could most definately be wrong!

I have actually taken mine in for well baby checkups and found out that they both had an ear infection. They didn't have the first symptom that I was used to seeing. You never know with these little ones!! How was last night?

Totally normal! At around 9 months my Zack did that, and it lasted for a couple months. I think its some sort of phase that only 'some' babies do. But, my Zack did it!

Jamie, it is good to know there are other weird sleepers!!! :D
Catie, last night she did it again. I started noticing a pattern. On Sat, Sun and Monday night she did it at 11ish pm. On Sat and Sun, she also did it later on too, but last night only at 11pm. Oh and last night when I went to go lay her back down she didn't cry anymore like the other times. I think she just wants to give her mom a good laugh because everytime I see her I giggle!
We'll see how tonight goes! B)
