    Hi Everyone,

So things are going great, the babies are moving all of the time and are big and healthy...I couldn't be happier about it! But I keep getting this very odd sensation though which for some reason bothers me and makes me nervous.

It's most often a sensation right down low near where I imagine my cervix to be or even a bit toward my butt in the back. It's a slight pulsating sensation which is slower than my pulse is most of the time. It's very constant though for maybe 5-15 mins at a time several times a day. I have been googling and I keep seeing things about hiccups, but it really seems a bit too fast to be hiccups. Usually the pulses are 2-3 seconds apart and quite rhythmic. Have any of you had this? I keep imagining an umbilical cord pressed into my cervix or something like that but I'm sure they couldn't compress their own cord enough for me to feel it like that or else it would be dangerous right?

I always wish that there was some way to know what all of these weird feelings are!

I have a throbbing sensation much like what you describe and I know mine is related to tendon/ ligament stretching in general. Could it be that?

Hmmm I don't know, but I don't really think so. It doesn't "feel" like that or at least what I imagine that would feel like. It really feels like something pulsing! Could be though I suppose. How did you know that yours was from stretching?

I have no idea as to what it may or may not be, but if you are concerned it never hurts to call your Dr and ask them what they think. :umm: Best of Luck to you!!

    Thanks Kyrstyn,

I have thought about calling, but the babies are moving around tons and there is obviously (at least to me) nothing "wrong" so I think I'll just put it on my list of stuff to mention and ask about for my OB appt next Thursday. It's more annoying than anything and not knowing what it is is extra annoying to a person like me!

I think it's normal, but have no idea what it actually is. I had it too, along with a strange vibrating sensation. I thought I was losing it until someone else on here posted about the same thing!

I have this and at times it hurts after a while but I talked to my doc about it and it's the babies kicking ot rubbing their head against your lower uterus. To me it almost feels like an eletric shock. Is this what you think you are feeling?

When one of my babies gets the hiccups it's quite fast, so don't rule that out.. Good idea to mention it to your ob at your next apt, if anything to put your mind at ease!

Kmay, I have been getting that electric shock feeling lately too.. Boy is it weird.. <_<

Hmmm so maybe it is just hiccups. It just seems so much faster than my hiccups but I guess that is entirely possible! I have seen hiccups on ultrasound briefly before but never paid attention to how frequent they were coming or to what I felt when I saw it so who knows. Definitely on my list of things to mention next week :) Thanks ladies.

Oh yeah and I'm not sure that I've felt any kind of "shock" sensation but I"ll keep an eye out for that one too! Seems like a new and strange symptom every week.

I think it may be the hiccups too. When my boy (who is the lowest) gets them, it literally feels like my lady bits are hiccuping! Some times they are fast, sometimes not, but they are always rhythmic and really really annoying!

I have a friend who actually saw her daughter squeezing her ambilical card until she (baby) passed out... then obviously she let go and it started pulsing again. Her doc said this is normal and that babies do it all the time, but you never get to see it on ultrasound! So if it was the cord being compressed I don't think it would last too long at all, but I am no doctor.

When my son had the hiccups (and he had them a LOT) that's exactly how fast they were. Remember they're much smaller so everything is faster.
