Ok, I understand they are twins & they like to do things together, but come on now this is ridiculous! Last week Shelby stuck a rice crispie up her nose, she must have ended up sucking it up her nose & it went into stomach. Last night Olivia & Shelby were eating popcorn, with me sitting right there, Shelby spilled hers & as we were all helping to pick it up off the floor, Miss Livie put a peice of un popped popcorn up her nostril. She immediately told me about it. DH was home & he tried one time with long tweezers to get it, ending up making her nose bleed, ouch! So off to the urgent care center we go. I was thinking we'd be in & out, but after 3 hours there, they sent us to the other local hospital to see a ENT Dr. After waiting there for what seemed hours, really only about 45 minutes, but with a sleep-deprived 2 year old..... This dr put her in the pappoose & used a long handled tweezer to get it, first time! I felt really bad for the first dr we saw, Olivia was calling him Papa & I think he got nervous after that. The first dr said that she was the best patient he has had in a long time, she was fairly cooperative all things considered.
The ED gave me a teaching sheet about "foreign body in nose", great....
Hope you all had a better night than we did.

Next time get your bulb syringe out and see if you can suction it back to the forefront! [IMG] Poor MOMMY, DADDY and baby!

    Ughh! What a rough night!

Elizabeth has started putting things up her nose. First was a piece of cereal (Kix), then scrambled eggs. Yesterday, she was trying to put part of a cracker in her nose but it was too big. So far, I have been able to get the items out of her nose, but I know we are going to end up at the doctor for this.

Sorry, but I had to laugh. I can't believe its happened to you twice within a weeks time. Hopefully this will be the last of your "nose troubles". Maybe mine will skip that phase...one can hope, right?

Hope the rest of your week is less eventful!

Well, if my kids start doing this, I can blame it 100% on my dh's genes.
When he was 3, he stuck an orange crayon up his nose (Orange is his favorite color) and had to get it removed. The dr did not put him to sleep for the procedure because he said that if he did not feel pain, he'd never learn and he'd do it again. He said his nose was "inflated" and they stuck big tweezers up in his nose and got the crayon out. He never did that again!

I have not seen them try hard enough to get something up there...maybe sticking cheerios NEAR their nose or ears...right now, I just try to get my dd to stop digging around her bum in the bathtub. Silly girl.
