OB Appointment the other day

I had an OB appointment the other day. The babies look good, sizes, fluid levels etc. I was 20 1/2 weeks at this appointment and my OB told me I will start seeing him every 2 weeks starting now until birth.


Is this the average gestational age when OB visits are every 2 weeks? I have an ultrasound every visit and I also have my regular ultrasounds every 4 weeks. Does this sound right?

I'm at 22 weeks right now and my doc hasn't started putting my visits closer together, but says we will after this appointment...but I only have ultrasounds every four weeks too...I'm beginning to think my doc has no idea how to deal with a twin pregnancy . But it sounds about right to me, that you should start seeing the doc more often than before now that you're so close to the 6 month mark, like me .

I've always had my appts every 2 weeks since I found out I was having twins.
However we do ultrasounds every 4 weeks. My dr says that a lot of the time when you do them more than that, the measurements aren't right and people freak out when it could just be the tech.

 

I started 2 week appointments after 16 (or 18?) weeks. I started weekly visits after 26 weeks. I also get monthly ultrasounds (unless fluid levels or growth differences indicated we needed more)

 

I went every 4 weeks until 32 then every 2 weeks until 36, then every week until I delivered at 37 weeks. And we did ultrasound at every appointment from 12 weeks on.

 

I am still going every 4 weeks. I will be 29 weeks at my next appt is Friday. I hope I will start going every 2-3 weeks after that. I have gotten a separate ultrasound staggered every 4 weeks since about 23 weeks.

 

I went in for cervical checks every two weeks starting at 18 weeks and this week at 24 will be my last. I tried to schedule my peri appointments on alternating weeks with my OB so I'm getting checked out by someone quite regularly. At this point, it's strange for me to go a whole week with no doctor visits! :lol:

However, my pregnancy hasn't been "typical" even for twins, so I might have a few extra appts in there.

 

I have been going to see my OB every four weeks with a quick ultrasound at each visit. Plus my Big Ultrasound every 4 weeks. My Ob said that after my next appt. at 28 weeks he will start to see me every two weeks.

 

I think with my OBs it's every 4 weeks until 28w (though that's thrown off now because I had to have a followup anatomy scan at 22w so now my next appt is at 26w instead of 28, so not sure if they'll switch to every 2 weeks after that or at 30w). I think "every week" starts at ... 32w maybe? Either 32 or 34. I just know the frequency changes 2-4 weeks earlier than for a singleton pregnancy, unless I have complications or something that would indicate more frequent visits earlier on.

 

I had been going every 3 weeks. I went today and doc says we'll go every two weeks now.

 

My appointments are every four weeks up until 28w and then every two weeks until 34w and then every week until delivery. Unless complications arise and I need to be seen more often of course!

And ultrasounds every 4 weeks since 20w (these are at a different office than my OB).

 

Mine were every 3 weeks since 11 weeks.... and now at 28 weeks they have started to be every 2 weeks. And I get an U/S with the tech once a month which started at 20 weeks. And I have only seen a peri once....I see another one next week and then maybe one more time but idk.

 

I have been seeing my Dr. every 2wks from 12wks...and an u/s every 4wks. Seems pretty normal standard in my clinic.
They are very quick visits...bp check, weight check, and some dr's do the dopplers, oh and answer my questions, I'm usually out in like 15min...
