i've read not to mix fruit with cereal bc then they get 'used' to eating sweet things? not sure what to do.
LO's hate it! i've only tried oatmeal (bc of constipation issues with one LO) and they really don't like it. should i try rice cereal or is it just them learning to eat by spitting it out or making nasty faces, lol.

I would just keep trying. Have you tried any fruits or veggies yet? If not, you might try mixing in a bit of carrots or sweet potato or maybe squash and see if that makes a difference.

i have tried pears and one LO didn't like them and apples.

i attempted carrots the other night. one of the LO's was gagging like he was choking. HE WAS NOT CHOKING either - they hated the carrots, lol.

maybe i'll try a sweet potatoe? i figured i would do veggies with dinner and fruit with breakfast.

It's a totally new experience for them & many babies don't like any solids at first. Just keep trying, they will learn to like it in time. I know it's frustrating!

Mine hated it all at first. They just wanted me to let them drink their milk. Keep trying and I did put fruits in their cereal at first.

Maybe they aren't ready just yet and you could try in a few days! This is totally new for them, so it takes a lot of work sometimes. I started with veggies first, but they were too harsh for the girls to digest. Once they started eating fruit I tried the veggies again. Now, they love veggies way more than their fruit!

I think it's a matter of personal preference. Some babies are going to like fruit/veggies more than the other. They are only human. ;)

I would try mixing the fruits in with the cereal. They are already used to sweets (breast milk and formula are very sweet). I rarely gave mine plain cereal.

If you're frustrated you could try taking a week or so off and then try solids again. Maybe they aren't ready yet. Or just do one meal a day since you're all kind of frustrated with solids. My DD wasn't really into solids until she was 7 months old. DS was ready at 6 months.
