oatmeal ok?

to those of you that have or had allergy babies, how did oatmeal go over?? rice cereal is not good for her!! eczema everywhere afterwards? what about real oatmeal???

 

Mine wouldn't eat rice cereal and they took oatmeal a little better. I think I'd try just a little bit and see how she reacts. Mine love real oatmeal.

 

With my allergy babies, my allergist told me to start with vegetables instead of rice/oatmeal. For some reason, it's easier to digest. I started with sweet potatos. But, when I did do the cereals, I did real oatmeal first.

 

I wonder if Millet would be good for allergy babies? Its supposed to be full of nutrition. I buy "hulled millet" from the health food store and first grind it a bit in a quick magic bullet then cook on the stove for 10 min. Its easy and you can keep it cooked in the fridge for a few days so you don't have to make it every day... good luck.

 

I think real oatmeal might be worth a try and see how your little one handles it. I think the millet is also good idea too. Good luck!

 

We actually use barley. My DS really likes it (and he's the one with allergies). We just mix it with whatever veggie or fruit we're giving them and they eat it right up.
