O/N diapers vs. pullups?

OK, this could likely be the dumbest question ever posted, but I have to ask...

We have always used Huggies overnight diapers for the kiddo's. They've always worked great, but they are spendy and we go through the small packages so quickly--plus they stop at size 5 and now are almost too small for my big monsters. Are pullups as absorbent as the overnights? I almost bought a case at Costco but figured I'd better consult the experts...I've never had to change a wet sheet and don't want to start anytime soon, lol.

    TIA,
    Darci

I just wanted to share that the Overnights are now sold in size 6. My BRU just started selling them. You can also get them online.

Hey! I tried pull-ups -- they didn't work (and I even tried the special nighttime pull-ups). They don't absorb nearly as much or fit as well as Huggies Overnight diapers do. Karina woke up completely soaked.

Here's what I do, actually -- I put her in regular size 6 Pampers Cruisers, and then over those, I put the JCPenney brand of training pants (Wee Essentials). They're nice and thick and keep the diaper snug, and whatever leaks out gets absorbed by the training pants, and her clothes and sheets rarely get wet anymore. Before, she was waking in a puddle every morning, even with size 5 Overnights. (She's in a 3T for the training pants, but they are *tight*)

Incidentally, I did find size 6 Overnights at Walmart -- but I didn't buy them because this method is currently working for the most part, and it's a lot cheaper.

Hope your munsters are well! :)

Hey ladies, thanks for the info! I didn't know they came in 6's now...I'll have to look next time I'm at WM. I'm kind of out in the toolies here in central Washington so may have to order online Nicole--good suggestion.

I might have to try that out Bec--unfortunately there isn't a JC Penney near me so will have to look for an alternative or maybe they sell them online? The huggies o/n's are awesome, but $$$, oy.

Ha, if 3T's are tight on Karina they will no doubt be the same on Ava! In some brands I am actually having to buy little girl size 5 clothes for her now, geez. She's 36" and 33 lbs....

In our experience, they are NOT as absorbent, not even the nighttime ones. (I actually started a thread about this a month or so ago.) I thought of switching back to Overnights, but now that my girls are used to the pull-ups, they don't want to go back to diapers. (And pull-ups are definitely easier.) When we use up our current pack of Huggies pull-ups, we're going to try Pampers, which Kelly (Snittens) said are better.

Pull-ups are not as absorbent as Huggies Overnights. We switched to pull-ups so they could go potty after being put to bed. They don't wet as much as they used to, so pull-ups have been doing the job ok.

We are in the size 6 Huggies Overnites and those seem to be working at the moment. They were peeing through the size 5's so I was doing a size 5 with a pull-up overtop, talk about expensive :faint:
