Nutramigen vs. Alimentum?

Is there a difference in your opinion between Nutramigen and Alimentum? Have you tried both and seen a difference with one or the other?

Morgan has been on Nutramigen for two weeks now and his reflux/spitting and excema are just as bad as they've always been. He's crying a lot since his excema has been flaring for over two weeks now and is just not generally a happy little boy anymore. I'm trying desparately to figure out what is causing him to be upset and am considering a change to Alimentum. However, we just had an awful experience switching him to Nestle, so I'm nervous to try something else.

Is it worth giving it a shot?

I've never tried Nutramigen but my twins just switched to Alimentum. They had the reflux and excema real bad and cried so much all the time and in just a few days of using the Alimentum, they have their beautiful coloring back and their excema is almost non existent and they are the happy babies they were supposed to be. The doc also put them on acid reflux medicine which helps (Axid). I hope this helps. I just wished I had switched sooner! Good luck!

 

I'm so glad it worked for you! I know when we switched Jonah from enfamil to Nutramigen, it was like night and day. He went from a super colicky baby (crying ALL the time) to crying at his normal fussy time. That first time we fed him, my mom was feeding him while I fed Morgan. After he ate, he didn't cry. It was like a miracle occurred. My mom and I both sat there looking at him, then each other, then at him again...we were waiting for the screaming to start and it didn't! Woohoo!

Maybe I'll try the Alimentum on Morgan. We'll see.
