I will soon be getting my hospital bag together and was going to start looking for a comfortable gown that is great to take to the hospital. I don't have many shopping choices in the town I live in. Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks.

With both of my deliveries the hospital gown was great for nursing. With my first I had brought a robe but never ended up using it. I liked having them do the laundry when things got messy.

Ya. Save your money and your time. You'll most certainly want to use the hospital gowns. They are VERY comfy and even kind of cute (at least at mine) and I LOVED wearing them!! They are soft and you can get them bloody and not worry about it. Plus, you don't have laundry to take home!!

Even IF you buy some.. don't take them TO the hospital. Keep them at home where they won't get yucky!

I disagree, I HATE the hospital gown... if you have any visitors at all, they barely cover anything, they always get crooked... I always brought my own pj's or gowns and just wore the hospital gown for the surgery. I wouldnt spend a ton on the one you bring to the hospital, the chances of you bleeding on it are pretty good. Motherhood Maternity has some at a reasonable price.

    Good luck!

i got a nursing tank top at target and wore that under my hospital gown. that way it was still easy to nurse but i was all covered up when we had visitors.
i also brought my pj pants with me. they are big and comfy so also perfect under the hospital gown and i was again covered up when i made my way to the bath room when there were guests in the room.
    hope that helps :)

I couldn't agree more! the gowns at my hospital were not even breastfeeding friendly! I wore my nursing gowns and didn't get them messy. I would also not pay alot for them. Kohls had them on sale for about 20 bucks that was the robe and gown. Walmart sells just the gown at some of their stores.

    Good luck!

I just used the hospital gowns...they were okay...kind of a pain for breastfeeding, as they only unfastened part way down. In hindsight, I wish I would have pulled out the gown I packed. But, I was so out of it with the new babies, that I didn't even think about it

I would take something cheap in case you do end up staining it during the postpartum stay...

I totally agree. I left mine at home and I am glad I did. Don't take them, just use the hospital gowns.
