I am so excited because we are FINALLY moving out of our tiny cramped apartment and out to the 'burbs. Jonah and Dalia will be almost a year old, and will get their first cribs and other "real" furniture (we've been using pack n plays until now). We're going to be renting a house for the first 1-2 years, and the room J&D will be sharing is already painted a light blue with a lighthouse on a beach border. We aren't allowed to re-paint. It is a small room, but I'm excited to fit two cribs. I'd like to do what I can to make her area girly and his area boyish, while still tying the themes together and not making things too cramped and "busy." I was thinking of hanging flowers and butterflies over her crib and sailboats and fish around his or something like that. But I'm not sure... Any thoughts?

Also - I'm excited about the idea of a sturdy changing table with drawers. We've been using the bed or the couch and my back is killing me from wrestling with them when I'm changing their diapers and clothes while bending over. But is it crazy to think we'll still be using that changing table for much longer?

Thanks, in advance, for indulging me in this!!

How exciting!!! We still use our change table for our 22 month old cuz its much easier on my back, geez i feel old lol. If you really want to tie it all together I would maybe try to go with the whole beachy theme for both and maybe cutsey starfish/fish etc for her and the sailboats for him. Or could you cover up the lighthouse that's already there with the peel and stick borders and figures that way you could do whatever you wanted? Sounds like a great move! Have fun decorating!

Congrats! I used a changing table for my first until he was potty trained at 2.5 years. He was on the small side so I could still easily lift him. For nursery theme, I did the same bedding with one in pink and the other blue (from restoration hardware).

The wall clings are the best thing ever, because it allows you to customize without wrecking the walls! I bought mickey/minnie clings for our b/g twins (actually I had them from my older dd who loves mickey/minnie), we painted the walls a sweet seafoam green/blue color, I bought bright striped curtains from target, and I want to find a striped rug, right now we have a neutral beige rug in there.

We had a honey oak colored crib from our older kids already (sleigh crib) so we found a white sleigh crib that was as similar as we could find for dd twin to use. I found cheap bumpers on craigslist, mickey for ds and butterflies/flowers for dd (I couldn't find minnie ones). I like buying generic colored crib sheets so it doesn't matter which sheet I put on which bed, I have some green, some beige, and some polka dot ones to use.

We also have a honey oak colored changing table which I used up until potty training with my older kids! I have a bad back and I can't imagine changing kids on beds/floors for 3 yrs! ;)
