I have an NST today and although I always have someone with me at an appointment, they don't seem to want to come to these. Too boring I guess. But then again, I haven't asked anyone if they wanted to this time.

Last week my OB was anticipating updates from my perinatologist and she said that this week we'd discuss when to deliver. I'm not sure if that's true because on dates when its just an NST, I only see the nurses. we'll see!

HEHE - for my NST's I HAD to bring someone. My babies were active and the little strap only held the microphone in one spot. The nurse held one and tried to follow one baby and my helped did the other.

    It was crazy!

Hmmm, I start twice weekly NST's here in a week. Anyways, how long do they last? I always have someone take me to my appts lately and I hadn't thought about that. It's getting tricky already going once a week and finding someone to watch my sons and someone else to go with me - - haven't driven since PTL started.

Thanks ladies! I wish I could have someone help hone on their hearts for me... My shoulders and neck are so sore afterwards, as well as the fingers I find I can't unbend because I've been using them to press the monitors in.

well, I saw her... The OB. waved hi. basically it. Grrrrr.. I'm tempted to tell her that the perinatologist wanted me to have 2 of those a week or at least 1 biophysical profile. I am not sure if she's still waiting on the notes to get to her or not. The peri. wanted to go over the 1st peri's notes before then. uhm.. Tick Tock??

Anyways. It took me 1/2 hour with Samantha, she's always cooperative and although she moves around, she always seems to be right where the doppler thing is. Ruby on the other hand... maybe it's the 3 oz difference but she's all over the place. I thought I was fishing half the time. It took us 1 1/2 hours to do hers. They were trying to do them at the same time, but they seem to think it's easier doing one at a time.

They want to see acceleration of their hearts with their moving around, and then deceleration of them settling. 20-30 minutes of good steady (or mostly) markings on the papers... Honestly, this time I didn't bring anyone because the past few ones, they seem so bored. I myself fight going to sleep while I'm there.

3 weeks ago I didn't eat just before and they had to be watched longer because they were sleeping. The past two times, we had to do them one by one because they both were so active. They'd place a monitor on one baby and then go to find the other one and try to place it on her, only to push the other one off. Both times I got there early, ate a whopper from BK and drank a ton of water before going in. Then in between switching sides (they were so low in my hips that I had to lay on my side - which was probably better than almost straight on my back) I would guzzle a ton of water.

soblessed: i've noticed that I could be there for 2 hours or more at a time. I always intend on picking DD up from school, but each time - someone else has had to. I was supposed to be getting monitored 2x a week, but it's been a battle. That's why I demanded a perinatologist. The 1st one I saw back in August. When I saw this one in December she actually asked me how come it's taken me this long to see a peri again. I soooo had to bite my tongue.

I had two this week...the first one was about 20 minutes. Both babies were extremely active and had multiple accelerations. And today it was about 30 minutes...Baby A had multiple accelerations but we had to wake Baby B up to get him to do a few accelerations.
