Since the weather is so nice, I would really like to take the girls outside, but the sun is so sharp I don't want them to get burned. The sunscreen that I bought says to consult your doctor before 6 months. Is that really necessary? Anyone using sunscreen before 6months without consulting a doctor??? Which kind do you use?

I have used it before 6 months. We use Waterbabies. Just be careful not to get it in their eyes.

Ditto. And Baby Blanket was another brand I used.

Our pedi actually reccommends Avon's Skin so soft... it is a sunscreen and bug repellent. Works awesome as well. I have the strawberry fragrence one.

my kids started daycare - and asked the pedi. she suggested testing it, so I put some on their hand one day and their foot another day - no reaction.

So far we haven't used it - but probably will start soon. For now, we use their sunshades on their infant carriers and we bought them sun hats (which they both hate).

I use California Baby, but my daughter has excema so I have to use super gentle stuff on her skin. But I didn't have to worry about pre-6 month stuff because it was winter. When they were teeny I just used hats, but now they can take them off. Sigh.

I've always used the Arbonne Baby Sunscreen on my kiddos with no problems.

Last summer I used the Aveeno Baby Sunscreen...it acutally says it's okay for babies from birth and up. My two older girls swim on our neighborhood team, so we were at the pool EVERY day. I figured I had to get something on their skin even more than just the canopies of their infant carriers... It's pretty gentle and didn't bug my sensitive skinned babies at all!! :)

Our Pedi actually recommended the banana boat brand as it is now with a tear free, chemical free formula. Our girls don't seem to mind and so far they have done well with it. They are travleing to our son's baseball games, sometimes that can be an all day event.

Our pedi said to use whatever had something called "Spectra" in it. I think it's Water Babies. It's in a pink tube.

I was wondering the same thing, though. We've been doing some outdoor walking the past week and it's been really bright. Do I need to lube them up for a walk around the block? Sunscreen is so sticky and icky.

(I really need to get a jogger that has a canopy sooner than later!) :p
