My girls get a kick out of pulling off their shoes and socks. When we're out, this is earning me quite a few stares and comments from people "just making sure" I wasn't intenting to bring my children outside in the cold weather with bare feet! Is there any trick to keeping their feet covered?

Put stockings/leotards under their pants that way if they take off the shoes and socks their feet are still covered in the winter and it keeps them warm.

Hmmm...mine keep them on so I'm not sure. My girls have sneakers from Stride Rite that are hard to take off. Maybe a better fitting shoe? What about if they wore them at home, around the house, and you made sure they kept them on to "learn" that they should be wearing them? Just taking a shot in the dark here. I hope something works. :)

Dd does that too. Since we are the point of needing good walking shoes, we are off to Stride Rite today after their nap. If that doesn't work I may have to try the tights under the pants.

DS is really good about keeping his on, but DD loves to take hers off all the time! Tights work well, but it drives her nuts. I would also make sure they fit well & aren't pinching at all......with DD we say a lot of "pretty shoes!" :) Fortunately, she is a shoe freak & loves to put them on as much as she loves to take them off. :D

Sometimes, once we're inside where it's warm I'll actually take her shoes off just so she doesn't toss them out of the stroller & they're gone forever. Socks I don't care so much if they get lost.

Oh, and usually she does this in the truck so if she has something else to play with she'll leave the shoes alone sometimes.

The last time we went to the zoo, both boys took off their sneakers. I had to backtrack to search for one.

My friend uses tights and it's the only thing she's found to work so far.

I always used Robeez - both the shoes & the booties and they stay on so well. Mine never pulled those off. If I tried to put socks on them, they always pulled them off.

We used Stride Rite Belugas with the zipper closure and this kept them on....they took off every other shoe!

This is a link to a picture. They do sell them on ebay for less.

We did buy new shoes and they still get them off so we have toddler BundleMes to cover their feet in the stroller and the car seat. They get their shoes off but I can find them fast and they stary warm.

If there is, I haven't found it! We got into the habit of letting our girls take their shoes & socks off in the stroller, because it keeps them awake so they don't fall asleep before naptime. Now they do it regardless of temperature.

If you're primarily worried about keeping their feet warm, tights or Bundle-Mes sound like a good idea. If you are worried about losing a shoe, try shoes that lace up really tightly.

But if you're mostly worried about what people will say -- don't! :D I started working on this when mine would fall asleep in the stroller (as tiny babies) and their hats would fall down over their faces. I can't tell you how many people felt the need to stop me and ask if they could breathe.

Now, if someone tells me my kids' feet are bare, I just thank them, and double-check that I know where all the shoes & socks are, so we don't lose one. I figure if their feet really get cold, they will start asking me to put the shoes & socks back on.
