We are currently on 3 meals and 4 bottles. When should I try to reduce to 3 bottles? Which bottle did you cut out? (i'm thinking the lunchtime bottle?)

Do you add snacks at some point? The superbaby food book talks about snacks. 3 meals a day is already so much work. They are so messy with table foods. please tell me they don't need snacks too!?!

when we switched from 4 bottles to 3, we gave up the lunch time bottle. It was the easiest.

As far as snacks? Well, you will be able to tell if they want/need a little something more. My girls get a snack between lunch and supper, because that's the longest span of time they go during the day without eating. So around 3:00, they do a bottle then a snack. I'm currently trying to get them to give up that bottle and replace it with juice/water, but no luck yet!

We still do 4. If and when we go down to 3 bottles I will combine the second morning and the first afternoon bottle an they'll get it at approx. 1pm.

We do cheerios, cheez-its, apple slices. Things like that for a snack. I just put a few cheerios for each on our couch and they come for them and it gets them standing and working on their reach. Since the apples are wetter we do them in high chairs or the booster seats that you can put on the floor that straps them in w/ a tray.

After our 9 month well baby visit, we changed from 4 to 3 bottles a day. We combined the 11am and 3pm bottle and give it at 1pm or so. Our pedi told us they should be eating more "food" and reducing their formula intake to 16-20oz per day. They seem to be doing okay and they don't act like they miss the one bottle. They sometimes get a "snack" around 3pm in the afternoon, if they are cranky and act like they need it.

I just cut out the 4th bottle and give one bottle at 1pm instead of 10am and 2pm. My question/frustration is do you give the bottle right after the solid or do you wait an hour? It just feels liket they're always eating! It's endless!

The only time we do one right after the other is at 3pm, they do their bottle, then a snack right afterwards. I posted our schedule in the 10month request from Dfaut if you want to take a look.
