Not the end of the world, but if I wasn't worried enough about preterm labor, IC, and PRROM....

Not the end of the world, but if I wasn't worried enough about preterm labor.... I am already worried due to my history of LEEP, and repeated cervical stenosis which required manual dilation 3 X

I've had a large amount of discharge (mostly clear, odorless), so much I've been having to wear a mid-heavy flow pad otherwise my underwear would be soaked...

Last thursday went in, a Dr. (not my regular) said there were no bacteria, and it wasn't amniotic fluid...

but I was worried, because I continued to have large amounts of clear, watery sometimes yellow discharge, and he didn't tell me what caused it, so I went to Dr. today..... (again not regular, but regular Dr. office)

And this time the Dr. found some bacteria, she said not a lot but she diagnosed me with bacterial vaginosis.

Does anyone know how much having this during pregnancy ups the odds for preterm labor and PRROM?

    Thanks!

Yes, and I DO know this is not the end of the world, and many ladies on here have suffered much, much worse... that said, I'm still not happy about this...

How far along are you? Could it be some incontinence? I hear that can happen with pregnancies. Vaginal discharge is normal with pregnancies and I've heard some peoples are so bad they have to wear pads to save their undies. I too have experienced the discharge and often times wonder if I'm bleeding but everything's fine.
As far as PRROM, I'm not sure what that is so I have no clue if this is a symptom.

    Good luck!!

LOL thanks, no I am only 15 weeks, I should have put that! And been diagnosed with Bacterial Vaginosis definitely. I am one of those who have to wear pads ;) I don't want to be gross but it FEELS like a heavy period sometimes...

PROM (I had a typo) is Premature Rupture of Membranes. Scary stuff.

Not had to deal with this myself, but can't antibiotics easily clear it up?

I had this when pregnant. I was worried to but I had no complications from it. I delivered at 36 weeks.

    hang in there!

Antibiotics clear it up, but studies show that even if the infection is gone, the fact that you had it at all during pregnancy increases your chances for these complications. Although treatment does reduce your risk to be not as high as it would be if you didn't get treated.....

(I don't understand any of the ratios they put in the studies, they make no sense to me...)
