Okay sooooo......after driving the 45 miles to the doc office my BP was back down to 118/80! So I still made sure to ask for the 24 hour urine. The doc checked me and nothing has changed there. She had me get up and walk around (assuming that sitting for the car ride brought my pressure down) and sure enough it was right back up to 130/90 just from walking around. But there wasnt spilling protien in the first urine so she has sent me home and told me to be as still as possible. I have an apt with my "real" doc on Monday. She believes the headache really was from the flu bug goin around my house and not from pre-e. But we are still on top of it and if I feel any worse we will go back. Hopefully we will make it until my apt. I hate going into a weekend so unsure of things... but I did all I could do!! What else do you do when a doc sends you home. I just hope she was right! We also requested a steroid shot and she said no that at 34 wks was the cut off for steroids and that they could be a bigger danger than help! Does that sound right? I just have to believe God knows that this doc knows what she is doing (ass I PP she isnt familiar with twins). Well I will keep you all posted!

It is good to hear it isn't Pre E ... I bet you are reassured as well, huh?

    PLEASE do keep us updated.

sounds like good news - i know it's difficult when you are so far from teh doctor....the increase in your bp w/out other pre-e signs sounds like PIH (pregnancy induced hypertension), which is what my doc diagnosed me with (and put me on bedrest for!); it explains the very fluctuating bp adn the fact that walking around increases it because you get vaso-constricted from trying to get the blood to your whole body.

Try not to worry; just pay attention to the signs this weekend. It sounds like you will be fine although it IS nerve-wracking!

    Yeah! Not pre-e! [IMG]

I have read that after 34 weeks steriods do no good - they are to increase the lung function if the kids are born too early and by 34 weeks, the lungs are basically functioning. They may need a little help, but not like if they were 28 weeks or something like that.

Briana---I'm so relieved to hear you dont have pre-e! It sounds like you should still rest up and take it easy, but you're going to be ok! That is excellent news. Enjoy your weekend!

Glad to hear you are doing well.

From my understanding it does sound right about the steroids. After 34 weeks there is little evidence of any benefits. It is generally thought that steroids mature the lungs to the equivalent of 34 weeks gestation. If the pregnancy reaches that gestation there is no need for shots.

Thanks for the advice about the steroids! DH was more worried about it than I. He has sever athsma (due to being 6 wks early) and just doesnt want our girls to go through the same things he has in life. Well I am still fretting (which doesnt help the situation) because my head still hurts but the BP is good!! So whats a girl to do? The sweet ladies from church are coming to clean my house tomorrow because they dont want me to worry about anything... I just think it will be wierd to watch someone else do "my work"!! The headache meds are helping and making me sleepy which is a nice change of pace. DH is now panicing because the doc today told us she thinks I will go in a week (my doc says I will go all the way) so he is finishing the basement and I really think he might work until dawn!! Poor guy! Well I will keep you updated (PS could someone tell me how to update without starting a new post?) about mondays apt... Thank you sooo sooo soo much for all the support ladies!

I am glad the doc doesn't think it is pre-e. I am sure you will feel better once you see your own doc. I am also leery of going into a weekend not feeling well. That seems to be when everything happens.
I don't think my docs give steroid shots after 34 weeks either since they do not have the same effect as they would earlier (like PP said).
