My 10 month old son is crawling yet (he has torticolis in his neck) but my girl is pulling up already and walking with a walker toy.....I was just wondering if any of you had a 10 monther that wasn't crawling yet? I feel like I have tried everything......he isn't responding to it.

Mine are 10 months old and my daughter isn't crawling, but my son has been for a month and a half. He's pulling to stand and kind of cruising as well.

I had early intervention come out and do an eval of her, but they said since she is rolling and going onto on her stomach on her own, they weren't concerned.

One of my daughters doesn't crawl yet. I stress about it regularly, but the pedi is not yet concerned. My girls were 9 weeks early and she keeps telling me that my crawler is just very advanced for being a preemie.

We go every month for Synagis shots, so I bring it up every month. She is improving, she now gets up on her hands and knees sometimes, but no rocking back and forth yet. And she does army crawl backwards a short ways (once in a while). My pedi says she's making progress and to stop worrying so much.

It's hard not to compare though.

Ainsley just started after turning 10 months. I thought she actually would never do it. Her brother had been crawling forever it seemed. Both are army crawlers by the way. I am not sure they will get the hang of the 'real' way.

Mine are 9 1/2 mos, and Zoe is not even close to crawling. She just the month started holding her weight on her hands when on her tummy.

They weren't early (well, 12 days but that's not much) but she has been going to physical therapy for torticollis (which is all better now, but she's still going b/c of being behind). The way I look at it is, she's still improving. She's sitting on her own now & getting better at that all the time. I remember a time when I thought she'd never be able to sit.....so now that she does, I feel better about her not crawling. As long as she's making other progress, I try not to stress. She's just doing things on her own schedule. [IMG]

A good friend of mine saw this book and said it reminded her of Zoe. She'll get there eventually, in her own time.

Maia has been crawling for over a couple of months now, but Tal just lay there, flapped her arms and whined. She wouldn't even roll (although she knew how to).

That lasted until about 3 weeks ago and then suddenly in one week she began 'crawling' - her arms are right, but she tends to drag her legs at funny angles - and putting herself into a sitting position.

The thing is, she never did the rocking on all fours stage, nor any of the other prelims to crawling (it took Maia weeks to learn). So I guess what i'm trying to say is that sometimes when it happens later, it can happen fast.

My girls are turning one this weekend, and neither one is crawling yet. Granted they were 6 weeks early, so they're more like 10 1/2 months old. Bella was born with some physical limitations, so I don't expect her to be crawling, cruising, etc. any time soon. But Josie was born without any problems and she's not moving. I just had EI come out to evaluate her this week, and the physical therapist said she doesn't see anything concerning. She said some babies are just very content to sit and play and just aren't very motivated to move, especially when they have a twin sitting next to them to play with! She gave me some exercises to do with her to get her to move from side to side, and to help her go from sitting to laying down, and laying down to sitting up. I'm hoping in the next couple of weeks if I really work hard with her she'll start getting it.

Nope mine are not crawling yet either. Jack can turn 360 degrees on his tummy and roll to get places and Sophie hates being on her front. She always sits up and i think if she wasnt so small she would be pulling up on things too. So no crawling here either x

Jessy didn't crawl at 10 months and she isn't walking now. Some babies just do it later but you still might meantion it to the pedi.

Mine are set to be 8 months and only Kevin is interested. Pat could care less. I know lots of babies who crawled at 11 months and withint two weeks stood up and started walking. Crawling does not always last very long before they walk.

Oh, and I have to say, he is one cutey!!!

Hmmm. I don't know what to tell you, but if it were ME....I would call the pedi and see about an EI evaluation. You have 1.5 mos. before your next appt. It can't hurt to have him checked out!

My DD didn't crawl until 10.5 months. They were 5 weeks early but we stopped using any adjusted age a long time ago. Our pedi said they were up to speed at 6 months.

It wouldn't hurt to ask the pedi.

My twins are too young to crawl yet, but when my older son was a baby he didn't traditionally crawl much. He'd do mostly butt scooting at 9-10 months, which was around when he started pulling himself up on things. He took his first steps by 10 months old and was walking confidently by a year. So these "milestones" can come up really quick. Talk to you doc if you are really concerned, but it sounds pretty normal to me. [IMG]

Well, my one dd has been crawling for about 3 weeks now and my other dd still is not crawling although I think she will be getting it very soon. She just started rolling over about a month and a half ago and she just started sitting up on her own a few weeks ago so I guess she is on her way but just at her own pace.
