I can't remember if I asked this before, but is anyone else dealing with frequent nosebleeds? I've had them quite a bit with this pregnancy but they have gotten ridiculous in the past couple of days. My blood pressure isn't an issue and my platelets, iron levels were fine as of a couple weeks ago. I'm on Procardia, so I don't know if that would have anything to do with making them worse (they are hard to stop now when I get them). I know that in pregnancy, your total blood volume goes up making everything more vascular, easier to bleed, so maybe that's it. Anyone else?

I've read that nosebleeds can be common in pregnancy, but I've always had problems with nosebleeds. I've never had a issue with getting them to stop though. I would run that by your doctor just to make sure everything's ok.

I had them off and on with the twins (none so far this time though) but they were never "frequent" or something that I couldnt control

Since pregnant, there is always blood when I blow my nose, but it's never really what I would consider a nosebleed since it doesn't drip or run blood. I have heard of women needing to have cauterization for nose bleeds when pregnant. I think you should mention it to your doctor.

About 2-3 times a week I get the bloody nose, but it doesn't run out like I used to get when I was little. As the pp said, I was told they are common.

Yes, I did get them a lot more often during pregnancy.

soblessed - it's nothing to worry about. I get them all the time with this pregnancy too, even before starting the procardia. The procardia is likely making it worse because it dilates your blood vessels. Just make sure to apply constant pressure right to the bleeding area and hold it until the bleeding stops.
