It all started with my doctors appt. on Wednesday the 20th, I went in to my regular OB GYNO and she checked my cervix and I was dialated to 4 to 5 cm, she sent me home. The next day I went to my local hospital to L&D and I was having mild contractions here and there and they sent me back to the doctors office, were my doctor checked me again and I was 5cm and she felt my bag of water bulging! yet she still sent me home! and said if my water breaks to call an ambulance, did she really want me to have an emergency c-section, if that were the case? So I decided to get a second point of view, low and behold they want me to come to labor and delivery to check me out. This hospital is bigger then the original one I was going to deliver at. I get at the hospital at 11:30, they check me and I'm 7+ cm and barly contracting. So ladies if you have a hunch of your body and you know something is going on listen to that voice in your head, because I could've been sitting at home by myself and going into labor without even knowing it! ontop of that baby a was transverse. I honestly didnt know I was dialating at all, this pregnancy was totally different from my first one, it is possible to have mild contractions here and there and be dialated to 7cm just in my case. So back to my birth story, everything happend so fast, the nurses put the cathiter in and my iv, the next thing I know I'm getting wheeled into the OR and their doing a spinal block on me. Which I will tell you, I like a lot better than the epidural, which didnt work with my first pregnancy. Noah Ray came into this world on May 22nd, at 1:37 weighing 6 lbs 7 oz and 18 inches long, then Skyla May came into this world a minute later at 1:38 weighing 7 lbs and 20 inches long. I was 35 weeks and 4 days pregnant, the doctors kept saying they couldnt believe how big they are for that gestation. They both needed a tiny bit of oxygen for the first hour after birth, they just have iv's to help them with their blood sugars seeing as I'm a diabetic, so they can't come to my room just yet until their off the iv's. I'm on magnesium for my blood pressure, since it sky rocketed after I had the babies, so I still can't get up and do anything yet. All I've been needing is some motrin for cramping, the pain is nothing like I thought it would be. All and all their doing great! I feel so blessed. Thanks for all the other mommies on here that told me to go to a different hospital, I'm so glad I did. :D

Congratulations on your big, healthy babies!

I can't believe your doctor kept sending you home. You were very smart to get another opinion.

Enjoy your twins - they will grow and change quickly!

 Congrats on the birth of Skyla and Noah!!

Sounds like everything is going and went quite well considering how the start of labor went for you. Glad you went for a second opinion. Now you have me freaking out though with 35weekers that big as I have been diagonsed with GD and am not sure I am ready to deliver two 7 pounders! LOL

Take care and enjoy!

Adorable babies, thank you for the pictures.
How is big brother liking them so far?

The big brother is a big help and can be a big pain!! lol hes asking tons of questions, which is typical, seeing as hes never been a big brother before. Yes it is possible to have big babies like me with GD, and I had mine under control, but I know its because of the diabetes. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.
