Ladies help! I can't get my kids to sleep. They are four months old. I have tried everything. They really haven't napped all day. I feel like crying.

Swaddle? Swing? Take them for a car or stroller ride.

Do they like to be swaddled?

Can you call in some help? Mom, friend, neighbor, partner? There's a chart (I'll google and come back with a link) that shows the developmental stages regarding periods of intense crying and it sounds like you might be in the midst of one of those times.

Like PP said, you could try swaddling. Also, if you have carriers, you could wear them both. My girls were very easily soothed while I held them (no matter if the holding was my arms or carriers). Is there a position that they're preferring, like being upright? You could try the swing or sling chair with you touching while they doze off.

It's not your fault and I'm sure you're doing everything right. It's just a tough age.

    Off to google.

If the above doesn't work, try patting their bottoms. It takes forever to get them to fall asleep but it does work.

Okay, this is from Wonder Weeks. I don't know if the chart is proprietary (I hope I'm not infringing on copyright) but I actually found it on facebook from when a friend sent it to me.

Oh man four months was rough here too!! They start to stay awake longer but they didn't know what to do with themselves so they just cried to fill the time:/
Can you rock them together? My boys easily situated in my arms til about 8 months they started picking at each other and then laying down I would have the pacifier or their loveys that they held and shooshed them with butt patting. It required work and time but they were excellent nappers bc when thy nap well they sleep better at night
Good luck just remember your not alone and this will pass!!! Where do you live, I'd live to come relive my twin baby days:)

Mine are 4 months and are horrible sleepers all the time - they are still sleeping in their swings but wake up multiple times. I sympathize. One day at a time.

Also, I'm going to merge this thread with your other one to make it easier to find the answers.
