My DDs are 3 1/2 months old now. They have been STTN for about 1-2 months now. 8-10 hours a night! However, this past week, they will NOT take a nap. They maybe sleep 15 minutes a time for a grand total of 1 1/2 hours a day. I've tried putting them in their swings/bouncers (they fall asleep and are wide awake again within a few minutes, and if I put them in their crib they cry)! Any advice? I know they should still be getting atleast 15 hours of sleep a day, but we aren't getting that. :(

I would just keep trying, there's not much else you can do! There's no way they don't need naps anymore at only 3.5 months old! A white noise machine helps my girls to sleep, do you use white noise?

I would bet it's some sort of developmental milestone that they are working on. They tend to disrupt sleep patterns. Rolling maybe?

Ugh, I hate it when they won't nap. I would just keep trying. Whatever phase they are going through will pass & hopefully they will start napping properly again.

Our naps were all over the place around this age, not fun at all! We would sweaddle and put down for a nap in swing or carseat. I would definately keep putting them down but try not to xpect consistant nap times and lengths to fall into place for another couple of months yet, for me it was 6-7mths when they became predictable. Well done you for getting them sleeping so well at night!!

Thanks ladies- they ended up making up for it today and slept ALL day. Hopefully tomorrow things will get back to normal. :) I had no idea the developmental milestones can disrupt sleep patterns. They actually have started to do A LOT this week (reaching and actually playing with toys, rolling onto their sides from their back, and more cooing noises :D)!

I don't have one of those white noise machines because white noise creeps me out... lol. Do you think just a regular Lullabye CD would work? Sometimes I feel so clueless. :(

All of those new developmental things are sure to keep them awake! I'm glad they made up for it yesterday.

I had a white noise machine, but I turned it low enough where I couldn't hear it! I can usually pick out a pattern in white noise, and it keeps me awake. Anyway, sure, a lullaby CD would work too!

BTW, I still feel clueless, and I have 5! It's all a learning process, and once you think you have it figured out...they prove that you really don't!

I would agree that it's probably a milestone. I've found that most sleep interruptions come in phases and they're sure to come out of it just as quickly as they came into it. Good luck!
