At almost eight months, my daughters seem to have lost interest in their exersaucers. They will gladly sit/stand in them, but don't pay much attention to the toys that are attached anymore. Did anyone else notice that their kids got bored with the saucers at about this age? I'd hate to get rid of them if this is just a phase...

    Thanks!

hi, my babies aren't that old yet, but I was wondering at what age you started using them. My babies are 4 1/2 months and I was thining of buying 2.
let me know if you have a chance!

It was right around that age that my babies lost interest because they were able to crawl fairly well, and didn't like being confined!

I started using them around 3.5 months, with blankets around them, propping them up. They loved the new scenery!

That is about the last baby gadget we have left in the house. We got rid of the bounceys, the swings, and the little things they lay under. Now we have the exersaucers just for emergencies. 5 minutes of needing a break and stick them in there with a paci or a biter bar. I rarely use them and I'd say my hubby uses them maybe 1-2 times a day if I happen to leave him for a few hours with the kids.

Crazy - the house seems almost empty without all that JUNK!

My two were the same. They hated being in them once they were mobile. Wanted to be crawling constantly. Around 8/9 months I got rid of them.

We started using them at 4.5 months. We had one of each...an excersaucer and jumperoo.

my girls are 9 months, crawling like crazy and - mostly are done with them. sometimes tehy will play in them nicely, very busy w/the toys (plus i give them a few more, put a mirror on there, etc). but often they want to be OUT and moving. depends on the mood and time of day. the days are clearlynumbered, though - it wil be intersting to see what the LR looks like w/out them!

I thought we could get by with just one but - nope, GET TWO! IT's the one way you can put htem somewhere and walk away for a few minutes to get something done!

I didn't see the use of htem (talk about clueless first time mommy!!) - then we got one as a gift and i was able to borrow another, but i got two on craigslist for when we visited out west. MUCh less expensive that way! I just laundered the seat cover and washed all the plastic parts really well. or you can try a local consignment store, the baby ones often have them.

Yeah mine are now over 9 months and they'd much rather pull up on the outside of it than sit in it. But I still use them to confine them if I have to run out of the room for a second. One thing we tried was to hang new toys on them in an attempt to make them more interesting. My girls get really bored with their toys so I'm constantly rotating...
