no dialtion at 34 weeks?!

i just got back from the doctors and i am 0 dilated....did anyone else make it this far without dilation?

 

Yup. I didn't have any dilation until I had them at 36 weeks by c-sec. I don't think that's unusual to not be dilated at 34 weeks.

 

It's actually a good thing, I think. :tomato: After all, you don't want them to go to the NICU and at 34 weeks they'd still be pretty tiny. Let 'em bake a few more weeks. At 37/38 weeks you can start serving them eviction papers!

You have a strong made for twins cervix!!! Good for you. That's one less thing to worry about. You must be so uncomfortable. I'm 26 weeks and can't sleep for anything. You're doing awesome and almost there!!!

 

Thanks just with my son I dilated to 2 cm by the time I was 34 weeks and stayed there til I had him at 40 weeks and 2 days so I thought it was strange for me not be dilated at all with the twins

 

I never dialated at all with my twins. I had a c-section at 38 weeks.

 

Im almost 37 weeks, no dilation here either - cervix is still long, closed and far from 'ripe' :headbang:

I never dilated either, but was 90%+ effaced, prior to my c-section.

 

At my 38+1 day appointment I was all set to be induced.............well nothing!!!so the doc sent me home with an appoitment for the next week.
My water broke hours before that..39+1 week.

The boys are my 3rd pregnancy.
My 2nd girl was induced at 38 weeks, I had 1 to 2 cm dialation!!!

 

I never dilated either and they still couldn't get me to dilate even with cervidil and pitocin!

 

Add me to the list of mom's who didn't dilate early! My boys were born via c-section at 38 weeks, 1 day. I still hadn't dilated, and nothing had changed . . . my doctor acted like he was complimenting me when he said my body was "made to carry twins!" I wanted to scream, because at the time, I wanted them OUT!! In retrospect, I'm extremely glad they stayed in as long as they did, but I also completely understand the desire to have them come early!
