The past few weeks, my appetite is diminishing. I am trying to eat what I can and supplementing with protein shakes, but I want my appetite back! It's hard force feeding myself. Anyone else have this? Any suggestions? So far, I have gained about 25 lbs, but I just want the twins to be healthy and grow!

Deb, this happened to me too. My appetite went down towards the end, and I do think it's normal since they are getting so big and taking up most of the room in there. I just ate throughout the day. I always had a healthy snack with me, or a sandwich, and would eat it slowly when I felt I could. I know it's hard to force feed yourself, and I hope you do get your appetite back. I'm sure your babes are doing great!! :)

I've been dealing with the same thing. I'm not as far along as you though but I'm just not hungry and when I am nothing here seems all that appealing. I'm fairly thin as it is and I've only gained about a pound and I'm nearing the end of my first trimester.
I just want fresh things to eat and it seems like everything around me is fried, bleh!

Thanks ladies! It helps knowing I'm not the only one. I have an appt. with my OB tomorrow, so I'll see what she has to say about it too.

Yeah I know what you mean I have gained tons of weight, but it is getting harder and harder to eat.. I feel full even when I am hungry...I really miss how great it felt when everything sounded and tasted so yummy....Even my fav. foods now are just ehhh I guess I will eat this stuff....

It was around 28 weeks that this problem developed for me too. It's been a battle for sure, made worse by hospital bedrest. Just keeping meals small is helping. My goal is to eat half of everything on my plate. . . or even just one bite. I also do the shakes 3X daily. My babies are still growing even if I myself am losing.

I've been struggling with this for a while too. Its hard to eat when your stomach is compressed into such a small space. The only way I can get around it is to eat smaller amounts more often, or to graze every hour or two. I've just accepted that there is no room for me to eat a regular sized dinner anymore. Instead, I eat a smaller dinner, and will have a snack (fruit, yoghurt, whatever) an hour or so later to try and keep the calories going in. I'm 37 weeks 4 days today, and have put on around 34 pounds, which worried me since it was on the lower side, but OB said not to worry as both of my twins were over the 6 pound mark at last weeks ultrasound. I now try not to worry - just do what you can, and the babies will take what they need.

I have the same problem. My doctor said it is because there is less room in your stomach to put food. Liquid nourishment may help like Boost or Ensure.

I had no appitite until about 20 weeks. From then until the last two days, I had a huge appitite! The last two days I have been very off and on. I have a feeling that if baby B (on top- both transverse) moves, then I can't eat. He moves again and I am starving! LOL. Just try to do the best you can. Drink the boost shakes. Eat protein when you can. Unfortunately I have been craving sweet. At least last night I ate a ton of fruit that was sweet!
