Nighttime feedings

My twins are 16 1/2 weeks old. This is just one instance that has happened over the last 3 weeks. Last night we fed them @ 9:30 with added cereal. DS woke up screaming at 2:00. A paci will not satisfy him nor you can hardly get him back to sleep if he wakes up screaming his head off. Tried to get him to sleep anyway by putting him in the bed with us. NO luck. So we get DD up as well to feed her. DS is taking 5 1/2 oz and DD is taking 4 1/2 oz at this time. Well DS took 2 1/2 oz and decided to pitch a fit when I tried to make him eat more. DD did not want to eat at all, she took maybe an ounce. She wanted to go back to sleep. So we let her go back to sleep and I worked with DS about 15 more minutes to try to get him to take some more, which he did not. Put him back to bed and then at 5:00 he decided he was hungry again. This time I was able to get him to go back to sleep by laying him on my chest. DD woke up at 6:00 ready to eat. Apparently he just wanted a snack. Any suggestions on what to do at this point. They have been on the same schedule since birth. I really hate to get them off schedule but if that is what needs to happen I guess I'll have to. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

hmmmm, that doesnt sound like fun at all! no rest.....
I havent had that exact problem, but i would give it a couple more days to see if it evens itself out?
I know how much I hate it when my girls are on weird schedules...it is a huge pain!
I hope they get back on track for you!
    good luck :)

Sorry you are not getting any sleep. Isn't three months too soon for cereal? I don't know.

when they cry like the way you described and you've changed them, coddled them and they are still crying. I assume gas bubble. If they can't burp, I believe it's okay to give them dexitrol sp? it's for gas.

Good luck, I hope you can get them both on the same schedule and yourself some sleep.

We went through something similar around the same age. I left the sleeper where she was while I fed the other. Some nights it meant a staggered feeding and not a lot of sleep for me, but it didn't last long and soon after we did CIO for the other one and they were both sleeping through.

I dont' have any good advice...just wanted to comment we are in the same boat. Recently we've been doing them separately at night b/c each has shown they can go 8 hours without eating, however, it hasn't worked with much success yet. Let me know if you figure out something that works ;)

If this has been going on for weeks have you ruled out anything medical like reflux. With mine the reflux was worse at night and we had issues with feeds and sleeping. Just a thought?

DD has reflux and my older son had that as well and he had cereal in his milk at 2 months and she is very petite and it seems to be helping her. We only do it in the last feeding of the night and they seem to enjoy it. They'll be 4 months old the 17th. DS has always woke up screaming to be fed. You can't pacify him in anyway except to feed him. That's just his temperment. I tried giving him a paci and he refuses. I have been able to lay him on my chest and he'll go back to sleep but then I don't get too much sleep. I give them the mylicon drops as well. I've tried burping and he doesn't burp. I was just seeing if there was anyone out there that had had this issue also. Thanks.

DD has reflux but DS hasn't really had that issue. He does have a lot of gas and we give him mylicon drops. DD has been on medicine and is doing a lot better. When DS cries he raises the roof. We live in a tiny space so I'm trying to not wake up DD and our older son. It may come to letting him do that though. Thanks for you advice.
