My girls have always been wonderful sleepers and had been sleeping 7 - 8 from the time they were 4 months old. They have never woke up during the night crying, until now. For the past two months or so, one is waking up nightly. The bad thing is they are wide awake and I have been rocking trying to get them back to sleep. This usually takes 2+ hours. I think they may be teething, but this is getting out of hand. I think I've started something with the rocking and now its become a habit. This has to stop, I'm exhausted!! Anyone else?

We've just gone through it, and I think it was due to teething (first molars). It's definitely getting better because Lily's molars finally popped through.

Grace still expects a drink of water when she wakes up (habit, I think) so I plan on putting a sippy of water in her crib this weekend, and a night light in their room, to see if she'll get the water herself instead of standing up and crying for it.

Sorry you are going through this Kimberly. We went through something like that about 6 months ago with Emilie and we finally had to let her cry herself back to sleep, once we realized she was okay. This was the only thing that worked. I would go in and sit with her, but then she just kept waking up and was awake. I finally couldn't do it anymore and as hard as it was to hear her cry, it worked. My two are in different rooms so it worked for us and it never woke Caroline up either and her room is right beside Emilie's, I was pleasantly surprised.

Hope it ends soon! I know it's not fun.

Mine are in the same room and we usually let Kevin cry it out but sometimes I have to go in and soothe him. He is getting a little better. He doesn't wait up the other two.

I hope it gets better Kimberly! :hug99:
