How do you stop the night wakings. When K &K were in cribs Kelby would typically sleep all night, but Kaylee would wake up anywhere from 1-3x's per night. Now that they have there twin size beds I think I got 3 hours of sleep last night. Between the 2 of them I bet I was up 10 times. I have a baby gate so they can't get out of their room (however Kelby has learned to climb this now.) I do catch them before he does this at night, but what do I do to stop the wakings. I usually go in there and they get right back in bed after i give them a 1/4 cup of milk. Kelby sometimes has to tell me that Spongebob is on his bed, as if I didn't know that and then he will go back to sleep. I need help. Oh and I sent DH in at 5:00 a.m. and all I heard was hi daddy, hi daddy, hi daddy, spongebob, daddy, spongebob. So they get too excited to send him in.

I have no clue!! I'm sorry you are going through this! Can you try some of the Supernanny's methods? Sit on a chair outside the room (not looking at them etc. and just put them back quietly without a word everytime? I don't know! This is why I'm holding on to cribs for as long as possible!

I have no advice. My kids are about 6 months older than yours and I know for certain that there would be no way they would stay in bed if they weren't constrained by the cribs. Like Diane mentioned you can try the supernanny method. I think that if you are consistent then they probably will get the hang of it. I do think you might want to cut out the milk, that might be rewarding the behavior.

Oh boy! My boys are 22 months and I couldn't find a crib tent to fit their cribs. We have sleigh style cribs that convert to toddler beds and we thought we would have to go ahead and convert them to keep them from falling out of their cribs head first.-- that is what they were trying to do. I just didnt' think they were ready for toddler beds though. Someone gave me some great advice that has worked really well. We took out the bottom of the crib and set the mattress on the floor inside the crib. It is safe, they are still contained in their cribs, and we've bought us some sleep for another 6-12 months.

So, I don't have any great advice for you, except as others have mentioned. Don't know if want to go back to their cribs or have the kind of cribs that convert to toddler beds, but that is a thought with the mattress on the floor if the problem was them getting out of their cribs at night.

    Good luck!

I am doing a lot of research right now on sleeping. Do you think that it is possible that I have caused all the night wakings? Last night was a complete disaster. Kelby was up from 1:30 until 3:30. I decided not to give them any milk. So when Kaylee woke up I gave her water. She took a drink and looked at me like what the H&*^ is this. She shook her head no. I had given Kelby a cup too in case he woke up and he could just grab it. He was sleeping in her bed. She grabbed his and hers and shook her head no and handed them back to me. I told her no milk. She then threw a fit. I went back in 15 min later because I could hear them up and about and she was carring the cups around and when I walked in she told me no again. So my question is should I let them CIO at night?

I don't have much advice for you. But, if you're thinking of CIO, I recommend taking a look at "Good Night, Sleep Tight" by Kim West (the Sleep Lady). I've found she has been right-on with some of the things my guys have been doing and she has some good advice. Good luck!
