my little boy would sleep around 6 hours straight...but i usually wake him to eat around 4 hours b/c his sister is wanting to eat. what should i do about this. i don't want to feed her then put her back to sleep only to have to get up an hour later to feed him. should i keep waking him until she sleeps longer or just let him sleep and deal with it?? ... oh they are 7 weeks old.
    TIA

At that age I was still waking them both if one woke up. Sleep was just too precious! Anyway, around 3 months I stopped waking Emma to see what would happen, and she slept right through. If you think you will be up an hour later, I would just keep waking the other for awhile longer.

I woke mine in the beginning. Whenever one would eat, the other would too. I decided to stop waking the other one when I was getting enough sleep. By enough, I mean if I decided not to wake the other knowing that IF they did wake in an hour I would be able to get up and take care of them. Make sense?

I would keep waking him a bit longer to give yourself some more sleep. We had this issue too and once we figured Tyler could sleep longer stretches we each took a baby at night and were responsible for that baby all night and then we werent getting up together with every feed and one of us usually got more sleep...namely DH <_<

I always used to let mine wake when they wanted to. However, I did find that one would wake the other anyway but thats when they shared a crib and a room. I had to separate them at 6 weeks as DS was so restless and woke DD all the time so she didnt get her beauty sleep! DH would take one baby and me the other so it worked out well. I also spent 2 months at my ILs over the summer and MIL would take one baby and me the other. By the time we came back home they STTN 11pm-7am. They started going 12-13 hours at 4.5 months and we havent looked back.

I think you should do whatever suits you/the babies best. GL!

I always nursed on demand and never woke the other though they did often wake around the same time.

I always believe in following their schedule. Especially when they are young.

I agree with PP. At that age it's okay to wake them and feed them.

Me. I'd let them sleep and let them 'tell' me when they wanted to eat. Soo.. I was waking up 3-8 times a night. Lots of mama's do them at the same time or one right after another. Figure out what works best for you and stick with it :)
