We live in Alexandria, VA and are searching for a night-nanny to help us out once per week, from roughly 10pm to 6am (or thereabouts).
We can afford $10-$20/hour. A highly-recommended place, "Mother and Baby Matters" in Reston, VA charges around $40/hour.. that's too rich for our blood.

So, can anyone recommend a person/place in the Northern VA/Fairfax County vicinity? Reputable *and* affordable?
    Thanks in advance,
    H.

I 2nd that. I used to be a nanny and that is how I was hired. Now I interviewing college students from Craigslist to come with me on playdates and such so I am not alone. I think I will find someone who fits my needs well!

We found two great babysitters on Craigslist, one by answering an ad and the other by placing an ad. There are tons of nanny ads. Btw, it's free to run an ad!

Hi, did you look under babysitters to find college students to help out w/ the kiddos? I'm also interested in the same thing...I have twins that are 4 mo. old and a 2 yr old so I need some extra help while I'm out.

    Hi,

Also try DCURBANMOMS.COM and DVMMOMS.COM. At DCUrbanMoms I found my nanny and you can place an ad looking for one. Goto Forums and go about 1/2 down and you will see VA Search for people looking for Nannies and Nannies looking for placement. They great thing about DC Urban most Nannies are in the 12 to 20 dollar range.

    Good Luck!

I am and have been looking under childcare. I even posted an ad saying what I needed and got A LOT of responses. Craigslist is great!

I live in Herndon, VA and I would have loved to get a night nanny...but heard they are so expensive! I am wondering how to find "Mother's Helpers".

    Good luck finding someone!
