We got the call yesterday that Nicholas' glasses were ready! They said 8-10 WEEKS until they came in-yet they were here in 3! I was concerned about him keeping them on his head. Well-they went on his head and he immediately smiled! He wanted to stop by the office to show daddy and Nonno. He was sooo proud! He even seemed to be walking a bit different-like he could see the ground more clearly. The Dr. said he would keep them on because he would be able to actually see! He may have been right. We do have a 2nd opinion scheduled for Nov 3 to make sure his sight is as bad as the Dr. said(to us he seems fine...). But him wearing the glasses the way he was yesterday, thinks the Dr. was right... We'll see! In any case-he has them! Now we just have to go and find a strap for the back so they sit on his nose the right way...

    Here's a photo!

Not an ounce of Italian in me! I'm mostly Irish-and certainly look it! But-my dh is 100% Italian-his parents camer here in the 70's from Italy. I've been 3 times already and we brought the kids last summer. Mil would like to be called NannI(sp?) but the boys can't say that-so she's NaNa!

He's adorable! My two got glasses when they turned 3. I was SHOCKED that they would keep them on, but they did. They can see better. It's amazing!!! We've had no issues.

He looks so cute! My niece had glasses at 18 months and the only problem she had with them was keeping OTHER kids from pulling them off her face and breaking them. She had a little girl at daycare that broke them at least 5 times within the first month!

    Oh my!!!

Nicholas was doing well with the glasses(he's not really wearing them FT yet-we are waiting for the 2nd opinion). I had to get a strap for the glasses so they will sit properly on his nose. Well-since I got that strap-he REFUSES to wear them. Any helpful hints?!?!?!?!

Do the pieces that go on his ears wrap all the way under his earlobes? I have worked with some kids who would not told=erate a strap but they did fine with the kind where the ear pieces wrapped all the way around the ear and below the earlobe.

I don't know if that would help with the position of them on his nose, though. Can you try out a different type of strap?

Yeah-it's a weird one-and the ONLY one I could find! At Walmart... It's one where you put the end of the glasses through a little hole... Gosh, I have no idea how to explain it! LOL! So no-it doesn't go all the way around his ears. Just sits on top-which pushes his ears down and he doesn't like that one bit! I knew it must have been too good to be true!
