Hello. I'm new to Twinstuff. I have a friend who's been on since she found out she was having twins but I never made it over here. I was on the WebMD boards though. I figure there are more twin moms here though. So a little about me.
My name is Jenny I live in Huntington Woods, MI (Detroit Area)
I have a wonderful husband who stays home with our 21 month old twin boys. They are our only children and we have two dogs as well.
The boys are identical and were born 7 weeks early and weighed in at a whoping (Alex) 5 lbs and (Trevor) 5 lbs 7 oz. They spent 2 weeks in NICU after my 4 weeks of bed rest in the hospital. Again I need to mention my wonderful husband who had to get the house and nursery ready without me! :D

My boys suffered TTTS during delivery only. Alex gave all of his blood to Trevor as he was being pushed out. (oh, I'd like to mention another ego booster for myself - I wasn't allowed to have an epidural, so I did the delivery all natural, the nurses at my hosptial told me I just entered a very elite group). Alex also had some head tramua during delivery (not to mention the month he was stuck before delivery) and has already had a blood transfusion and 2 MRIs. He also wore a helmet for 6 months to round out his head. Both of the boys are doing great now though at 18 months Alex was about 30 lbs (he was WAY to upset to get an accurate weight) and Trevor was 32 lbs (no more baby scale for him).

They are running, climbing and getting into everything and we did baby sign language with them - thank goodness because they are not speaking yet. When they turn two we will get them evaluated. But the whole twins and boys thing they're expected to be delayed.

I don't know what other information is usually shared...I've probably shared too much. But thanks for reading this.
    I'll talk to you soon.
    Jenny

Welcome to TS. I have found this board so useful. I am also from metro detroit. We live in Macomb Twp. You should check out the post on the Events & Gatherings under the Parentclub board. There is a meeting planned for Detroit Zoo on Saturday, 5/31/08. We are meeting a 10 a.m. I don't think a meeting place has been determined yet. Again, welcome!

Actually, Pamela is the friend I was talking about. I don't think I can make it though because I'll be walking at the Race for a Cure that morning. I might be able to meet up with you though afterwards if everyone is still there. I live 3 blocks from the zoo, sometimes I feel like I live in a zoo, but that's a story for another time.
